Religion of peace update: Christian minister beaten by three Muslims

From Britain, we get a religion of peace update. A Christian minister was attacked by three Muslim men, and threatened with further violence if he continued his TV Gospel show. How tolerant, accepting, and peaceful!

A Christian minister who has had heated arguments with Muslims on his TV Gospel show has been brutally attacked by three men who ripped off his cross and warned: ‘If you go back to the studio, we’ll break your legs.’

The Reverend Noble Samuel was driving to the studio when a car pulled over in front of him. A man got out and came over to ask him directions in Urdu.

Mr Samuel, based at Heston United Reformed Church, West London, said: ‘He put his hand into my window, which was half open, and grabbed my hair and opened the door.

Then he grabbed my cross and pulled it off and it fell on the floor. He was swearing. The other two men came from the car and took my laptop and Bible.’

The Metropolitan Police are treating it as a ‘faith hate’ assault and are hunting three Asian men.

In spite of the attack, Mr Samuel went ahead with his hour-long live Asian Gospel Show on the Venus satellite channel from studios in Wembley, North London. During the show the Muslim station owner Tahir Ali came on air to condemn the attack.

Pakistan-born Mr Samuel, 48, who was educated by Christian missionaries and moved to Britain 15 years ago, said that over the past few weeks he has received phone-in calls from people identifying themselves as Muslims who challenged his views.

‘They were having an argument with me,’ he said. ‘They were very aggressive in saying they did not agree with me. I said those are your views and these are my views.’

He said that he, his wife Louisa, 48, and his son Naveed, 19, now fear for their safety, and police have given them panic alarms. ‘I am frightened and depressed,’ he said. ‘My show is not confrontational.’

Gee, even after England banned The Three Little Pigs from school libraries so as not to offend the Muslim students.

  • The UK, Spain, and Holland will be under Sharia law in another decade (two at the most).

Unless they collectively decide to grow a spine.

We are seeing the same thing here in Houston. Muslim mosques are popping up everywhere and are demanding special treatment in school, offices, jobs, etc. Add that to the criminal alien problem and things are getting worse every day.

    TX,

Whether Europe will find a spine or not is irrelevant, if they continue to eschew at least basic replacement rates for their populations. It comes down to simple demographics (yes, I believe that Mark Steyn is correct in his assumptions).

Europe will be 25% Muslim in a little over a decade and they will have a majority by the end of the century. Russia will be going in the same direction at 20% about the same time, but will be majority Muslim by 2050. Those are demographic projections which should hold true if nothing upsets them.

Muslim confidence is growing because they are expanding. Europe is dying, hence their fatalistic attitude. If we’re not careful, we’ll wind up the same way shortly after.

I disagree with Mat, at least Europe is slowly slowly waking up to what’s going on. And frankly I wouldn’t put anything past what a cornered Europe can do considering what it has done in the past

  • Mat says:

    Loren,

Yes, there are some Europeans slowly waking up, but the demographics still favor the Muslims in the near future. A cornered Europe will most likely go to the extreme far right, no doubt, and there will be violence in the end (it’ll probably end up along the lines of what happened in Bosnia and Croatia). But for the most part, Europe is fatalistic.

  • Bob says:

Loren, maybe you’re right. But europe has changed alot in the past few decades. 50+ years ago I’d have had no doubt that they would have been able to deal with this growing problem. But now? They seem to have largely given up without a fight, unwilling to do anything that might offend their growing, and largely hostile, muslim minority.

It’s disgusting that this sort of thing is taking place in a Western country like the United Kingdom…to say nothing of the old days where Britain was actually playing a major role in spreading Christianity around the world. My, how times have changed.

What the media never mentions in stories like this, is the Christian communities that are appearing in parts of the Muslim world. While the numbers aren’t on par with Muslims immigrating into (and being born in) Europe, it is happening. Did you know that there are 300 Roman Catholics in the Gaza Strip, despite the place being ruled by Hamas?

I’m proud of the minister. He’s standing up for Christ and doing His work here on Earth. He says he is feeling intimidated (and who wouldn’t be?), but I notice that he hasn’t stopped doing what he is doing with his show. That in of itself says something. I’m going to pray for him not to be discouraged.

The Bible says that people will persecute those of us who preach about Jesus; we are commanded to NOT be afraid of them, but rather to be obedient to God even to the point of death. The verbal abuse, disrespect, bigotry, and occasional violent attack are not an ‘if,’ but rather a ‘when.’ Such things simply must come in the last days. It’s also worth pointing out that while Muslims do things like this to Christians, so do atheistic communists and other non-believers.

The minister reminds me of another charismatic preacher who speaks on the radio, one named Ravi Zacharias. He is from India, Pakistan’s neighbor. He is about as popular with Hindus as this guy is with Muslims. You can learn about him at http://www.rzim.org

I was also pleased to see that the attack was condemned by a fellow Muslim, and one with a microphone at that. While this is certainly the least we should expect from someone living in a civilized country, it’s still a refreshing change from hearing other Muslims endorse such thuggery. It also would appear that the authorities are taking the case seriously, instead of becoming intimidated themselves and looking the other way.

And as far as the West being overrun by Muslims…it may happen, but I think the US will be the last to fall. We’ve got a much stronger Christian tradition here, better demographics than Europe does, and our authorities have very little patience with this kind of hate crime activity.

  • Mat says:

    Cylar,

A couple of things. Overall, I liked what you said. However, small enclaves of Christians in Muslim lands don’t really add up to much, and those are generally persecuted pretty heavily. Secondly, the chances of apostacy in Muslim majority areas (Muslims converting to Christians) are small because those people pretty much have a death sentence on their heads. Thirdly, the Muslims don’t mind having some “People of the Book” in their lands because that’s where the tax revenue comes from.

As far as the US is concerned, your comments are true at this point in time, but what about the future (yes, I do believe that the US will be the last non-Islamic stronghold)? It is currently a Christian country, but that can change (and it may already be). The demographics favor us for the time being, but much will depend on whether the Hispanic Catholics will put up with it because it’s their birthrate that’s keeping our replacement rates above average (as opposed to European ones that are well below it).

Let me put it this way: if someone were to tell me ten years ago that we would elect a de-facto socialist to head our country, I would have laughed. However, it did happen, many Americans don’t seem to have a problem with it, and it’s possible that it could happen again because of several factors. Also, Islam is the fastest growing religion in this country. While their numbers are still small, eventually it will catch up (as the numbers expand exponentially).

But…but Newsweek just issued a “guide” in “How to live with Radical Islam.
Can’t we all just get along?

Tell me again about the motives of those that hold Sharia to the core,
in moving OUT from the land where it’s fashionable, and carrying such baggage WITH THEM to lands where it CLEARLY isn’t. I can only hope that self proclaimed moderate and disbelievers can pro actively quell their brethren’s blood lust, lest the inevitable consequential backlash to the extremity of these “guests” catch them up in the same net.

That’s how it would be done here in the US, but the story is from the UK.
