As if I needed more reasons to heart Carrie Underwood, she comes out with this awesomeness:
I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate. It’s saying that the American public isn’t smart enough to make their own decisions. I would never want anybody to vote for anything or anybody just because I told them to.
If only more celebrities were like you, Carrie. If only.
Chris Mayer says: That’s awesome! There are other celebrities. A couple years ago I heard Karri Turner, who played Lt. Harriet Sims on JAG, say the same kind of thing. But her take was that she plays other people for a living, so why would that make her opinion more important.
I find people who endorse candidates as arrogant, thinking that they know better than the rest of us. And I mean that for both democrat and republican endorsements.
