Oh, dear. December 1st. Christmas lights and decorations have been popping up since the Halloween deco was packed away. And as ubiquitous as pumpkin spice, here comes Portland, who had a “tree lighting” for … for … who knows?

Because the word “Christmas” became conspicuous by its absence.

As thousands gathered in Pioneer Courthouse Square for the Oregon city’s 41st annual tree-lighting on Friday night, leaders and speakers avoided mentioning “Christmas” at any point — including in the ceremony itself and the event’s ads.

The festive occasion was kicked off with a woman from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs thanking everyone in the crowd for coming out on Native American Heritage Day.

No word if she demanded any Land Acknowledgement from palefaces on stage.

She introduced two younger members of the tribe, who referred to the celebration only as “the tree lighting,” before handing the microphone to another featured speaker.

Draped in a Palestinian flag, the woman used her stage time to lead the crowd in a “Free Palestine” chant.

“This is the perfect time to bring this up. There are a lot of genocides going on,”

Well, of COURSE, maybe the Birth of the Christ Child might be a perfect time to remind people He was Jewish and Islamists in Gaza are dedicated to wiping out Jews while their brethren in Africa are wiping out Christians. Of course, I’m sure that’s not what the hajib-wearing terrorist wannabe was thinking.

“Can I get a ‘Free, free Palestine,’” she asked, and some members of the crowd were heard obliging.

Weird Portland living up to its image, for sure.

And I’m sure Portland won’t be the last this Christmas season to ignore the word or deny the religious origins of the holiday. From claiming Jesus was really trans to the usual hoary old claims that Christmas is really a pagan holiday stolen by Xtians (psssst … it’s a myth).

I’ve never met a happy Leftist. And one thing you can count on them doing, is being dedicated to making everyone else as miserable as they are. For the “fairness”.
