The United States unemployment rate has never risen so quickly in four months since they started tracking it back in 1948. The unemployment rate has risen from 7.6 percent in January to 9.4 percent in May. Since the stimulus package was passed, we’ve lost 16,000 jobs per day. We lost 598,000 jobs in January, 706,000 jobs in February, 742,000 jobs in March, 545,000 jobs in April, and 345,000 jobs in May.

Meanwhile, the spending bonanza in Washington continues. If everything continues along the same path, Obama will have quadrupled our debt by the end of the year. We’re already sitting pretty on $11.1 trillion in debt – by December 2010 we could be looking at $15.3 trillion in debt. And despite the fact that even Vice President Joe Biden is admitting that the money is being wasted and people are being scammed, we’re looking at more wasted money. Obama wants to spend $108 billion to bail out the International Monetary Fund. Democrats want to put this bailout in with the emergency war supplemental bill, which will inevitably end up shortchanging our troops and funding terrorists.

Meanwhile, Obama is getting what he wants. He’s getting more power by the month, and capitalism is slowly dying as he accumulates that power. We’ve got, as David Rothkopf so eloquently put it, “more czars than the Romanovs”. These czars – the energy czar, the urban czar, the health reform czar, the terrorism czar, the drug czar, the cyber-security czar, the border czar, the pay czar – get to operate with practically zero oversight whatsoever, and no accountability either. Obama’s hiding his fascist tendencies less and less by the day. $82.3 billion of corporate and business assets have now been nationalized by the government, with a massive health care nationalization plan underway, which includes taxing our health care benefits. But, come on – do you really think he’ll stop there? Obama’s already demanding that GM and Chrysler can only make cute little environmentally friendly cars, despite the fact that no one actually wants to buy them. If they make too many trucks and SUVs, they’ll be hit with tax penalties and who knows what else. The president’s Cap-and-Trade plan, which is being passed in the name of global warming, is also expected to destroy more jobs and make the cost of living skyrocket.

We’re losing jobs at a rapid pace. The government’s spending more and more money. Our debt is skyrocketing. Oil prices are expected to read $85 by the end of the year. The cost of living is expected to increase as well. The economy is getting worse and worse every day, and President Obama is seemingly doing everything he can to destroy it faster.
