ok. it really is no surprise that i am not an michelle obama fan. and i’m not a fan because of the cost of her sneakers or the size of her six but rather because i think she is amazingly self-important and ego-tistical. and i came to this conclusion not because of observations of her as first lady but from observations when she was a candidates’ wife and even before. and even today, mo is not changing my opinion of her.
released yesterday was the annual disclosure to congress of the west wing payroll and on it was an unprecedented 22 paid lackeys staffers from the office of the first lady.
no, mo doesn’t get paid to serve as the first lady and she doesn’t perform any official duties. but this hasn’t deterred her from hiring an unparalleled number of staffers to cater to her every whim and to satisfy her every request in the midst of the great obama stimulus plan recession. check this out:

mary lincoln was taken to task for purchasing china for the wh during the civil war. mamie eisenhower had to shell out the salary for her personal secretary. and nancy reagan’s china for the wh? well even though it was paid for through private foundation money, was excoriated in the press.
i want the first lady (of either party) to represent this country well. i want her to have the things she needs. yet all of these people seem incredibly excessive because the obamas are excessive folks and the media – like every other unappealing issue they have – let them get away with it.
case in point: when the media was fawning over michelle obama spending an hour at a food bank, wearing her $540 shoes, cindy mccain was spending a month in africa using HER OWN MONEY to feed starving people and providing clef lip surgery to children! did we hear anything about that? nope. while michelle obama goes to schools and brags about her swimming pool and personal assistants, making kids feel bad about themselves, laura bush went to islamic countries and talked to women about getting proper medical care and instructing them about sexual health and early breast cancer prevention. again, we heard very little about laura’s work because she was a conservative.

when michelle obama actually steps up, uses her magnificent platform and does something, then tell me about it. until then, i am completely under-impressed.

Although it is quite a staff with some redundancies, I would be embarassed to pay anyone whos assistant to our first lady regardless of whether I like her or not less than 50 grand a year. Oh well, they probably dont care as long as they get to breath her air a couple times a week
Heaven forbid that we hold The One or The First Spouse accountable for any of their actions. Can you imagine the hue and cry that would be emitted from the media had George Bush taken Laura to Europe, along with twenty staff vehicles, in order to shop? Wouldn’t the pundits have lambasted Laura Bush for not buying American goods during an economic crisis? Yet it seems that the Obamas are beyond any sort of criticism, professional or personal. I await the apotheosis and the creation of our own Pantheon so that we may worship them as deities. ….God help us.

Laura Bush, even though she is slighly older actually holds a much more appealing figure both in terms of physical anatomy, its balanace and the way she carries herself as a lady. She walks with and a smooth graceful gentle elegance, carries herself well postured. Michelle always walks kinda like both knees replaced.
Petunia mentions that Michelle needs a fashion stylist. Maybe Petunia. But she also needs a freaking brain or two. I’ve seen her do it many times now, and even as a guy myself can figure out that you dont wear smocks or whatever the hell those things are that she wears than come down just past her a$$ (like in the pic) and not expect that style to make your a$$ look twice its normal size.
Oh, and the crepe paper crumbled up aeound the a$$. Thats a big no no unless you want to look like a turkey in a kindergarten thanksgiving play, with a huge a$$

Once again it doesn’t matter that her hubby is asking all of us to tighten our spending belts because OMG she’s wildly popular. How juvenile. Unfortunately this seems to be the mindset (and I’m going by what I read in here) of most liberals. The old DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO attitude is alive and well and living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Come on, Penni for this cool million + WE are paying for 22 people to do the job of maybe 4 we could be studying why dung beetles roll elephant poo into dung balls.
Dowdy women? Laura Bush has and will always have more grace, compassion, and dignity than mo could ever hope to have.

She is from a solid American family and is raising 2 of the most adorable children on the planet. She also has the responsibility of keeping happy the most powerful and beloved man on the planet. Why can you not support her? Why must you talk about her body? Why Kate do you call her bitter and not proud at every turn? She needs our support.
