Meghan Markle’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, left the UK yesterday to avoid the coverage of Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry.  He evidently planned a trip to South America to coincide with the royal wedding in the hopes of avoiding the clamour.  Unless he is someplace where there is no cell phone coverage and no television sets I doubt that he will achieve his goal. According to biographer Andrew Morton, author of A Hollywood Princess the couple allegedly split because Meghan began to land roles in far-flung places. Evidently, Trevor being located in Los Angeles, and Ms. Markle being located in Toronto (where her TV show Suits was filmed) it eventually wore on the relationship.

According to a source who spoke with the Toronto Sun on the topic:

“The split with Meghan hit Trevor pretty hard. He went through a rough time during the break-up and that was only made worse when Meghan got together with Harry.’

‘He had to re-live it all again — this time in public. It wasn’t the most amicable of divorces and there were hurt feelings on both sides. Now he has bounced back and things are looking great for him,’ the source added.”

This wedding has certainly already seen its fill of family-related drama what with the bride to be’s father, Thomas Markel deciding against attending the royal wedding after admitting that he had participated in staged paparazzi photos after he was released from the hospital following a heart attack six days ago. Representatives for Markle had asked for privacy for Ms Markle in the face of the “difficult situation“. When pressed as to the cause of said “difficult situation”-the heart attack or paparazzi photos-the representative declined to speak further.

One can certainly hope that Mr. Engelson is able to achieve his goal of being one of the only folks on the planet to not witness the spectacle that took place earlier today. Although  I certainly did not share it. Prince Harry, on the other hand, was out and about with his best man and brother William last night greeting well-wishers and joking about just wanting to go to the pub.

In true Harry fashion, the first person he went to speak to was a little girl who was at the front of the barriers to ask if she was squished and had she been out there long. So reminiscent of his mother Diana in his genuine concern for others. I can certainly see why this prince captured Ms Markle’s heart. In the interview below the two describe the process of getting to know one another organically since she was not raised with the royal family in the news all of the time as it is in Britain. Their second date actually was a five-day camping trip in Botswana, where the two were able to allow their relationship to grow out of the spotlight and in a very level evening area.

I for one hope that all good things come to this sweet royal couple in the future years. These two are just adorable, two cheers to the royal couple!
