Marine murdered… for being a Marine

This is just absolutely horrifying. I hope the two men who did this… well, let’s just say that I hope they get what they deserve, which would be a punishment so horrible and terrifying that it couldn’t possibly be put into words.

On leave from the violence he had survived in the war in Iraq, a young Marine was so wary of crime on the streets of his own home town that he carried only $8 to avoid becoming a robbery target.
Despite his caution, Lance Cpl. Robert Crutchfield, 21, was shot point-blank in the neck during a robbery at a bus stop.

Feeding and breathing tubes kept him alive 41/2 months, until he died of an infection on May 18.

Two men have been charged in the attack, and Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason said Friday the case was under review to decide whether to seek the death penalty.

“It is an awful story,” said Alberta Holt, the young Marine’s aunt and his legal guardian when he was a teenager determined to flee a troubled Cleveland school for safer surroundings in the suburbs.

Crutchfield was attacked on January 5 while he and his girlfriend were waiting for a bus. He had heeded the warnings of commanders that a Marine on leave might be seen as a prime robbery target with a pocketful of money, so he only carried $8, his military ID card and a bank card.

“They took it, turned his pockets inside out, took what he had and told him since he was a Marine and didn’t have any money he didn’t deserve to live. They put the gun to his neck and shot him,” Holt told The Associated Press.

The two men charged in the attack were identified as Ean Farrow, 19, and Thomas Ray III, 20, both of Cleveland. Their attorneys did not respond to The Associated Press’ requests for comment.

There are no words to describe how absolutely awful this is. My sincerest thoughts and prayers go out to his family, and my gratitude for his service. I hope justice comes swiftly to his murderers.

    They’re murdering scum. Hang them.

Oh, wait, some bleeding heart will say “you can’t do that, it’s inhuman”. They decided to be the prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner. We’ll afford them a defense lawyer, a judge, a prosecutor, a jury and ideally, and executioner. After a year and a couple of million dollars, they’ll find themselves in a very bad place.

They may even beg for death.

Just let them go. Let them free on any Marine training base and then look away. Justice will come.

Another example of B. Huessin’s typical black people.

The punishment you describe, Cassy, is called ‘Hell’. God have mercy on their souls.

Hey, ‘I R A Darth Aggie’, am I a ‘bleeding heart’ if I say we shouldn’t put them to death? Instead we should put them in a federal work camp in Alaska. Solitary confinement 24/7, unless it’s their turn to work. Food would be brought to them inside their cells. Does that satisfy you? It does it for me.

I just saw and read about this young Marine on Michelle Malkin’s website and as I read this my heart literally ached that such a fine young and dedicated young man should have to die in such a manner. As a Marine myself, ’83-’87, I get tore up everytime I read something like this. My only hopes are that while awaiting their trial, or once convicted and in prison, these animals will get the opportunity to get a good ole code red or blanket party. Justice needs to be administered to these animals and this outstanding Marine Brother needs justice.

They will, Cassy. They will. Fear not. As a previous poster noted, God is waiting for them on the other side…and when they get there, they’ll find Him with the gavel in His hand, ready to pronounce judgment.

I understand your frustration, though, and yes, I hope the system is able to exact some harsh penalty on them in this life as well.

Hey, Matthew, can you guarantee me that they’ll remain there till they slip this mortal coil? Consider the “martyr” Mumia Abu-Jamal has become, and the late unlamented “Tookie” Williams almost became? see, someone somewhere will say that your punishment is too harsh, and needs to be dialed down. And that person might be in a position of power to make it so.

Besides, what you’re proposing is far crueler than death. Humans require hope, and there is no hope in what you propose.

To rob someone of hope is just mean. Remind me not to cross you.

IRADA, you do not even want to dream of what I would do to these scum. It would be very ugly, very painful, and they’d scream for death before it finally came. If they could scream with no tongue.
