Wow. Clearly things are not going well at Camp Hillary. Apparently, a reporter for BuzzFeed named Michael Hastings, had a heated email exchange with Philippe Reines, Hillary Clinton’s longtime aide and personal spokesman at the State Department. Hastings asked a series of direct questions about the State Department’s disgraceful handling of the Benghazi attack on our consulate which killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and 3 other Americans. Reines was also asked about CNN finding and reporting on Ambassador Stevens journal. Here is a photo of Hillary Clinton with aide Philippe Reines (along with John McCain) in happier days.
The complete email exchange located here between the reporter and Hillary Clinton’s aide is fairly remarkable with Reines calling Hastings an “unmitigated asshole” before an exchange of harsh words on both sides. One particularly interesting paragraph in the email from Michael Hastings to Philippe Reines is this:
“The misinformation here seems largely to be coming from State and the administration. The defense that the administration has offered that there was no intelligence warning of an attack is weak. If there was no intel, then clearly the CIA and other intel agents stationed in Benghazi weren’t doing their jobs well. If there was intel, then we have some kind of cover-up–whether out of incompetence or ass covering before the election or just the trauma of losing four good men, it’s hard for me to say at this point.”
The email exchange concluded with Philippe Reines telling Michael Hastings to “Fuck Off” and “Have a nice life.” Really Mr. Reines? They seemed like valid questions to me. But it seems Hillary’s aide has a track record of being an ass to reporters. Philippe Reines is a federal employee at the State Department. He works for us. We pay him to carry Hillary’s purse and I suppose to now run hostile interference when reporters are asking questions he and his boss don’t want to answer. Yep, Hillary, he’s a real winner.
Just want to point out — Michael Hastings is the reporter of Rolling Stones Magazine fame — you know, the one who did the piece on Gen. McChrystal, following which the General was removed from command. Yeah, THAT Michael Hastings.
