Gwyneth Paltrow famously married Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and moved to London. Once she moved, she began raving about how wonderful England is compared to us unsophisticated yokels here in ‘murrica.

“I love the English lifestyle, it’s not as capitalistic as America. People don’t talk about work and money, they talk about interesting things at dinner.” Paltrow adds: “I like living here because I don’t fit into the bad side of American psychology. The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans.”

Of course, when the idiot Americans who go to see her movies got angry over those comments complained, she quickly backtracked, saying her comments were taken out of context. But now she’s back at it again, bashing America in favor of Spain:

“It is so different from the United States. It seemed to have a history, and the buildings are years and years and years old. Here in the United States an old building is about 17 (years old), and over there it’s from 500 B.C., it’s incredible,” she tells the Associated Press.

“Also, the way people live over there. They seem to enjoy life a little bit more,” she continued. “They aren’t running around as much as in New York. They enjoy time with the family. They don’t always have their BlackBerry on.”

It’s interesting that she would say that. Perhaps if she, along with the other self-obsessed liberals in Hollywood, would step out of Hollywood or Manhattan and into the real America, she’d see Americans differently. Most normal Americans do not have the pampered egos of the celebrities that Gwynnie Paltrow likes to rub elbows with have. Most normal Americans do spend time with their families, unlike the spoiled celebubrats in Hollywood and Manhattan who let their children be raised almost exclusively by nannies. And in this economy, most normal Americans aren’t going out and buying Blackberries, let alone run around without ever turning them off.

And believe it or not, Gwyneth, American does have a history. There is rich history in the United States, and even before the United States was founded there was history and culture here. Perhaps actually reading a book, as opposed to learning your history from Oliver Stone movies or Michael Moore documentaries, could help Ms. Paltrow in this area. But then, ignorance is bliss, which is likely why so many celebrities parade around, wallowing in their own smug arrogance.
