Global warming hits Washington hard… with SNOW in June.

One of the wonderful things about global warming is that no matter what happens with the weather, it can always be blamed on global warming. Of course, that only works if you’re one of the Goracle’s Kool-Aid drinkers. Any kind of weather symptoms whatsoever mean that global warming is real. Really hot? Global warming. Really cold? Global warming. Too many hurricanes? Global warming. Too few hurricanes? Global warming. Flooding due to excessive rain? Global warming. Droughts due to not enough rain? Global warming.

And on and on and on it goes.

Now, of course, for those of us who don’t drink the Kool-Aid, stories like this one give us a lot of skepticism:

The Spokane area saw record low temperatures and even a little bit of snow Tuesday morning, and all just 11 days before the official start of summer.

Much of the Inland Northwest remained under a snow warning from the National Weather Service Tuesday morning. KHQ received calls from people in Reardan, Moscow, Pullman, Loon Lake, Airway Heights, Deary, Spokane’s South Hill, and Deer Park who all say they saw snow Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather service, Spokane’s low temperature dipped all the way down to 36 degrees. A trace of snow was also recorded at the airport.

Forecasters expected 5 to 10 inches of wet snow above the 3,500-foot level Tuesday morning in the Cascades with lesser amounts down to 2,500 feet. A Transportation Department spokesman said it’s been about 30 years since a snowplow has had to clear Stevens Pass in June.

In Port Orchard, on the west side of Washington, South Kitsap High School had to cancel classes today because of a power outage. It’s one of about 6,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in Kitsap County that lost service in Monday night’s windstorm.

Forecasters say the cold low-pressure system is moving east and high pressure should bring temperatures back to near-normal 60s by Thursday in Washington. The temperature made it up to only 55 on Monday at Sea-Tac Airport. The National Weather Service says that was a record low-maximum. The old record was 55, set just last year.

Other record low-maximums Monday were 54 at Hoquiam and 54 at Bellingham.

Here’s pictures of the global warming in action:

The global warming scam is falling apart at the seams. Even the founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman, isn’t a believer:

Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980’s and 1990’s as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years. So, I ask Al Gore, where’s the global warming?

The cooling trend is so strong that recently the head of the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change had to acknowledge it. He speculated that nature has temporarily overwhelmed mankind’s warming and it may be ten years or so before the warming returns. Oh, really. We are supposed to be in a panic about man-made global warming and the whole thing takes a ten year break because of the lack of Sun spots. If this weren’t so serious, it would be laughable.

So now the global warming myth actually has lead to the chaos we are now enduring with energy and food prices. We pay for it every time we fill our gas tanks. Not only is it running up gasoline prices, it has changed government policy impacting our taxes, our utility bills and the entire focus of government funding. And, now the Congress is considering a cap and trade carbon credits policy. We the citizens will pay for that, too. It all ends up in our taxes and the price of goods and services.

So the Global warming frenzy is, indeed, threatening our civilization. Not because global warming is real; it is not. But because of the all the horrible side effects of the global warming scam.

I love this civilization. I want to do my part to protect it.

If Al Gore and his global warming scare dictates the future policy of our governments, the current economic downturn could indeed become a recession, drift into a depression and our modern civilization could fall into an abyss. And it would largely be a direct result of the global warming frenzy.

My mission, in what is left of a long and exciting lifetime, is to stamp out this Global Warming silliness and let all of us get on with enjoying our lives and loving our planet, Earth.

It’s time that we Americans stop letting our lives be dictated by the threat of global warming. We’ve been tricked by a snake oil salesman, someone who wanted to play on our fears to further his agenda. The scare tactics and fraudulent science being used are deplorable, and it’s time we stop allowing ourselves to be fooled. You want to see global warming in action, then go rent “The Day After Tomorrow”. Otherwise, be smart and let this go.

Not only was he trying to further his agenda, he is turning a profit, off of all the green kool aid drinking suckas out there. Only someone with that agenda would broadcast over and over that “The debate is over” Yo Al, in this country, the debate is never over, you of all people should know that, google it, Mr. Internet.

C.S. Lewis used a marvelous term for this in The Four Loves, calling it “invisible cat logic”; it goes something like this:

    1) If there were an invisible cat in that chair, the chair would look empty.
    2) The chair does look empty.
    3) Therefore there is an invisible cat in it.

It is a subtle and dishonest way of making an argument unfalsifiable by introducing a condition that allows superficially contradictory evidence to support your hypothesis as well as overtly reinforcing evidence, and it’s the hallmark of the conspiracy theorist. (“But there’s no evidence whatsoever that anyone in the Bush Administration deliberately allowed 9/11 to go forward!” “Of course not – it was all destroyed; what else would you expect?”)

But that’s one of the reasons that “climate change” is now the preferred term rather than “global warming” – this allows the models to take into account atypically extreme weather events that don’t fit a “warming” model.

“Climate destabilization” would probably be a better term for what they really believe is happening, except it takes too long for most reporters to type and spell and has the fatal weakness of assuming a definition of “climate stability” which has yet to be calculated.

But…but…think of the polar bears, who’ve just been put on the “endangered” list! Just because their numbers are growing doesn’t mean that they don’t cry for the future of their cubs, you know. Have YOU ever seen a cute polar bear cub topple over because of heat exhaustion? No, I haven’t either, but I bet it ain’t pretty.

Or if that isn’t human-species-centric enough for you, what about our children? Yes – they’ll each have a carbon footprint, but I’m going to teach mine to knit clothes and sandals from hemp and to ride bicycles everywhere, which I hope will go some way to reducing their potentially catastrophic impact upon Mother Gaia. Then they can cycle around the rainforests distributing Sting CDs to indigenous tribespersons.

But you evil neocons just can’t think of the chiiildreeenn, can you? The picture of you with the gun says it all. Don’t you know that thousands of children are killed every year by people who innocently buy a gun thinking it’ll help with “self-defense”, only to be dragged unwittingly along the corridors of a high school by Evil Gun Spirits and involuntarily pulling the trigger even though every fiber of their morality (non-religion-specific or from any religion at all, of course) causes them to rail against any taking of someone’s life, even if it does reduce their carbon footprint and might help the polar bear cubs in the long run.

I hope you people are proud of yourselves *goes cross-eyed and drinks more Kool-Aid*.

    DAMN!
I barely threw out Acid Rain in exchange for the el nino scapegoat to explain why “experts” were consistently wrong or just plain lying for fame and cash. Now that I got used to Global warming you want me to adore Climate Change as the explanatory bellwether of the week?

I suppose I’m supposed to forget that the manufacturer of the soon to be mandatory mercury and phosphorus laden planet saving compact fluorescent light bulbs, that will overtake disposable diapers in the landfills and poison the water tables with known mutigens, ALSO destroyed the Hudson River-and ALL
    it’s migrating fish.

I just can’t keep up with all this instant gratification pandering.
I’m just going to have to get ALL my information from NBC, and MSNBC from now on.
