A quote: “When your mother asks, “Do you want a piece of advice?” it’s a mere formality. It doesn’t matter if you answer yes or no. You’re going to get it anyway.” ~~ Erma Bombeck
I’ll start with a story …
***********************************
“I don’t like the look of that wind.”
POP.
“And there goes the power. Mom, what are we going to do? My phone is only at 40 percent!”
“Well, you and your brother could read a book.”
“BOOOORING.”
“Could we play a game? Like Monopoly?”
“Do you remember what happened the last time you two played Monopoly together? You bankrupted your brother with the hotel on North Carolina Avenue, and he flipped the board over?”
“We’ll be fine, I swear!”
“This is not a good idea.”
“I prooooomise. We won’t fight.”
“When you do fight, remember I told you no.”
***********************************
Now, it’s your turn.

“I’m Teddy Roosevelt” the teenage daughter threw out.
“What? There’s no Teddy Roosevelt!”
“Right there, the guy on the horse. And he hates you monopolists. I’m gonna bust your trusts until I crush you all at this game.”
“What? But that’s not how this works. That’s not how it works at all.”
“I’m going to crush you all.”
“Should we go through the rules again?”
“Boomer.”
“What? I’m not a boomer. Your grandmother is a boomer—“
“Don’t try to confuse me with your boomer language. And just so you know, before we begin we’re breaking up the bank….”
The scoutmaster sat close to the fire. The scouts leaned closer to hear.
“Boys, the story I’m about to tell is real. It happened right here in Parker City.
The rider on the pale horse sits waiting at Free Parking. Soon, he will advance toward Tennessee Avenue and St. James Place, sweeping through – buying everything. After that, he will buy St. Charles Place, then Boardwalk. Every Avenue will belong to him. Everywhere poster will bear his smiling face: the master, the overlord.
Soon, he will own not just places, but people. You will bear his mark. Then, he will speak the word, the terrible word, “Monopoly”.
“Drat! One of the few places I can’t buy and charge rent. Well, anything is for sale for a price. Might buy Go to Jail and make it movable too. With my billions that shouldn’t be hard.”
“It’s against the rules.”
“I’ll buy Hasbro and change the rules.”
“You would be ignored. Besides, unlike dollars, there is a finite supply of Monopoly money in the world.”
“If I own Hasbro, I can print all I want.”
“YOU IDIOT!! DO YOU REALIZE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THEIR FACES RUBBED IN OUR LITTLE ARRANGEMENT WITH THE FED?”
