If Fred had given speeches like this during his campaign, he’d be the nominee right now.
You can get the full transcript at Wizbang.
This speech (and I imagine the rest of the convention will as well) killed Obama. Empty rhetoric about hope and change cannot and will not stand up next to character and substance. Obama does not have the experience or the character that both John McCain and Sarah Palin possess, and I think the American people are realizing that. It’s why the media is in such a panicked, desperate frenzy. And it will only benefit us in the long run.

LoL. You mean the “empty rhetoric of hope and change” the Republicans stole? You mean the “pig in lipstick” that is the McCain campaign?
The guy voted with Bush 90% of the time, is planning to continue most of Bush’s (failed) policies, and presenting THAT as “change?
Yeah.
By “Change,” the McCain campaign means “the monogram on the whitehouse towels.”
And when you talk “substance,” you realize that the Republicans spent MOST of their time tearing down Sen. Obama and his policies, and barely mentioned any SPECIFICS of theirs. That’s not “substance.”
“Substance” would be saying “We’re going to…” and say their reasoning why, so that people could decide whether they agreed with it or not. But they can’t do that, because… Republican policies are bad for almost everyone.
There’s not enough time or space to write all that’s wrong with the embedded speech above. I’ll have to wait for another time.
