With yet another senseless act of violence rocking our nation, President Barack Obama and Democrat front-runner Hillary Clinton spoke out on increasing gun control.

As most know, reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were killed while filming a live segment for a local news program in Virginia yesterday. Politicians wasted no time in their quest to limit gun ownership, even though all of the facts surrounding the case have yet to be released.

“Sadly, these kinds of events happen too often,” Obama said in a separate interview with KIRO-TV in Seattle. “It’s a testimony in this case to the fact that local journalists, they go into tough places. This isnt one of those situations. They should have been safe. I think it’s one more argument for why we need to look at how we can reduce gun violence in this country.”

Josh Earnest also spoke on the need to increase gun control.

Earlier in the day, White House press secretary Josh Earnest renewed Obama’s call for what he called “common sense” gun legislation.

“The precise details of that incident continue to be under investigation. But as you’ve heard me say in the past, this is another example of gun violence that is becoming all too common in communities large and small all across the United States,” Earnest said.

While many feel it inappropriate to immediately politicize such tragedy, it is becoming a growing trend.

Democrats have become increasingly willing to speak out about gun violence immediately in the wake of shootings.

“How many innocent people in our country, from little children, to church members, to movie-theater attendees, how many people do we need to see cut down before we act?” Clinton said then.

In an interview with the local radio station WTOP after Wednesday’s shooting, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat and close ally of Clinton, also suggested a need for new gun-control measures.

“There are too many guns in the hands of people that shouldn’t have guns,” McAuliffe said. “There is too much gun violence in America.”

Interestingly enough, Hillary often speaks on gun control after a tragedy, but she never tells us how her plan – which as a whole is still unknown – would have stopped the tragedy she uses as a platform.

Many criticized the Democrat candidate for using a tragedy to promote an agenda before the suspect was even apprehended:

Unfortunately, in the political world we live in, everything is fair game to those who have a narrative to sell. A psychopath took the lives of two innocent individuals senselessly, and not one politician knows if it could have even been prevented by any level of legislation at this point. Maybe instead of furthering their own agendas, those who lead our country should do what’s appropriate during the days leading up to the victim’s funerals: Mourn for the loss of two innocent American citizens.
