Are Jon and Kate Gosselin divorcing?

TLC is certainly hinting at it:

I haven’t really mentioned the Jon and Kate cheating debacle. First, I’ve never watched a single episode, so what do I know or care? Second, it’s not exactly surprising that reality TV relationships aren’t all they cracked up to be. But since they exploded into the mainstream, all of the details of their relationships have become news and tabloid fodder. By all accounts, Kate Gosselin seems to be a controlling, mean woman, while Jon Gosselin seems to be a man at the end of his rope, and who no longer cares about his family at all. Is it reality TV that has done this to their relationship? The number of children they have? Or are they both just horrible people?

Regardless of the reason for the dissolution of their marriage, one thing is clear: their children should be taken off of that show, or taken away from them. Check out Kate’s brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Jodi Kreider, talking about Jon and Kate:

Now, clearly you have to take what these people say with a grain of salt. We don’t know what their intentions are, or how close they truly are to the Gosselins. Either way, they still bring up a good point. 40 episodes a season means taping a lot of footage. When do these children get time off? What kind of effect does it have on them? And if they are old enough to recognize the cameras, and understand that they’re being taped, and are asking not to be, then why are the Gosselins continuing with this show? I have to say that in my opinion it does seem like these kids are being exploited. It’s one thing for adults to act out on reality television, but it’s quite another to forcefully make children live out their lives on national TV, especially if they are asking for the cameras to go away.

These two seem to be reality whores, and as such, I’d bet that they aren’t quite divorcing yet. Oh, they might threaten to. But that’ll be just so that they can conveniently decide to save their marriage in the season finale.

  • I haven’t watched it either, but I caught a clip or two recently and couldn’t believe how awful it was. Why would anyone want to watch that woman screech at her husband and put him down constantly on TV? Meh.

    Those poor children.

I’ve probably only watched enough “reality” (anything but) TV to know I despise it and think it’s for the most part all that worst about TV.

You gotta get kidding me. I know you’re moving and all, but just focus 100% on that instead of half assing your blog.

  • Frank White says:

I’m sorry, that was rude and thoughtless of me.
