And I’ll be thrown in jail.

For an hour, anyway.

I’m going to be participating in the Clay County Lock-Up to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In case you aren’t familiar, muscular dystrophies are a group of about 30 different diseases usually characterized by weakness and degeneration of the skeletal muscles. Some forms are seen in infancy, some in the teen years, and still others don’t strike until adulthood. The most common form is Duchenne MD, which primarily affects boys and is first seen between the ages of 3 and 5, and it progresses very quickly — most boys who get Duchenne MD are unable to walk by the age of 12. The prognosis for any kind of MD, however, will vary from person to person. Some people are only mildly affected and live a largely normal life. Others suffer severe disability.

SO, someone (I don’t know who!) offered up my name, and a “warrant” was issued for my arrest. I will have someone from the MDA come “arrest” me on October 30th, and my bail is set at $3200.

This is where you guys come in.

I would really love it if you guys would help contribute. Any amount can help. $35 can provide an annual flu shot, $150 can provide a physical therapy session, etc. Even if its only $10, it can help. 76% of every dollar MDA receives goes towards research, health care, and education, and there are 43 neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA. As I’m sure most of you already know, MDA is a great organization. And hey, your donation is tax deductible, too. Plus, we’ve got a reputation to uphold!
