A quote: “It is what you read when you don’t have to that determines what you will be when you can’t help it.” ― Oscar Wilde

I’ll start with a story …

*********************************

He hoarded time like he did the books. His uncle would confront him, “Boy! Where been ya?”

“Doin’ chores.”

His uncle couldn’t complain because his chores would be all done, not a slack bit to be found. Uncle be satisfied and left him time to hunker hidden, reading and learning.

He was careless one day and the clan kids chased after him, jeering, threatening.

Until the sky rent and a bolt of light scattered them easy as wind does fall leaves.

She had liquid sun in one hand and a book like his in the other.

“Teach me!” he cried.

*********************************

Now, it’s your turn.
