I’ll start with a story …

He hummed as he shaped. Three couples crouched in his hut, rapt with wonder.
“Clay is from sacred grounds, we pray to our gods as we shape. Good fortune to their owners.”
His face was weathered leather, the color of the slurry that covered his hands. Finished, he set it down, bowed, forehead touching the ground.
They grabbed several finished ones, leaving handfuls of bills in the nearby jar. Once gone he got out, stretched, lit a cigarette, shouting to his grandson, “I need more clay. The next bus is due at 3.”
Pulled out his cell phone, muttering, “Tourists!”
