A Message to the Patriots in Connecticut

We are all watching you closely right now. We feel your anger, your sense of dread as you face what could prove to be your darkest hour.  We understand you are on the verge of war, the type of war that will leave American citizens fighting their own government in the streets.  Although our prayers fly to heaven constantly, we know deep down, as you do, that this will not end with a parting of the sea.  It will end in blood.  This pains our hearts in ways that are hard to explain, and keeps us up at night, looking for ways to make this cup pass.  No sane person wants war.  But no patriot accepts slavery to avoid it.

Your state is attempting to literally confiscate the firearms of law-abiding citizens.  Give us your guns or you will go to jail.  Give us your guns or we will mark you as a felon and take away your right to vote.  Give us your guns or we will come take them away from you. That is the message you are hearing now, and it is an absolute affront to everything you hold dear.  It is the final straw, for without arms you have no recourse against tyranny, no way to secure your liberty and that of your children.  If you fail to stand against this, all of our children will grow up with no concept of what freedom is, or how men were meant to live.

Washington encouraged his troops with the following: The time is now near at hand, which must probably determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will deliver them…The enemy will endeavor to intimidate by show and appearance; but, remember, they have been repulsed on various occasions by a few brave Americans.

The Second Amendment is clear.  It does not say “The right to bear arms shall only be infringed for perceived safety” or “the right to keep and bear arms is dependent on whether the government thinks it’s okay for you to do so.”

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

We understand as you do that the militia is not the National Guard or the military.  It’s you and me, and necessary to the security of our free state is the right (and duty) of the people to keep and bear arms.  We salute your courage, and your unwillingness to bend the knee to your tyrants.  We also know that it may cost you all that you have.  Know this: You do not stand alone.

We are American citizens, born into a birthright of liberty.  We are part of the greatest nation on earth, and in our blood burns the fire of millions of warriors, who believed in the sanctity of freedom.  We are no one’s slave, no one’s vassal.  We do not bow to tyrants, and we do not give credence to laws that violate the rights given to us by our Creator.  We believe in honor, in integrity, and in things our government has long forgotten.  Most importantly, we believe in this truth: An armed man is a free one.  And we would rather die standing in a pile of empty brass than live one second on our knees in deference to some overbearing group of fools who think it is in their power to control us.  We wish only to live in freedom, to be left alone to raise our family, worship in our faith, and contribute to the world around us.  But if we are forced to fight, we will fight with every fiber of our being, until there is no more breath in our bodies, and our blood stains the street underneath our corpses.

The war is inevitable–and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come…Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace–but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

Stand firm, Connecticut.  I hope this letter finds each and every one of you.  We are watching, and we promise you with our lives that if you must fight, you will not fight alone.

    eff them, these are not “Patriots” facing confiscation.

    they tried to register their legal firearms, and didn’t get the paperwork either filled out correctly or in on time…..

    they were attempting to comply with an unlawful law, and now its consequences are biting them in the ass…

    the patriots are the millions of CT residents who refused to come forward and offer their necks to their oppressors.

      There are gun owners hiding right now in that state. People who didn’t register and refuse to identify themselves. They deserve to know that they are supported. Secondly, just maybe some of those who did register are regretting their decision. If they understand how desperate the times are and how big a deal this is, just maybe they will do what’s right. If not, then let them be slaves. But there is still hope.

      I think that you are under informed about what is going on in Connecticut. The number of people who registered was what about 10% of those who have guns. This letter is to the 90% who said no.

    They are people, American people who need support yes some of them may be sheep blind to whats going on around them. But they are all people with families, hopes, dreams, and they are about to be set upon by wolves what will you do stand by and say Eff em or will you stand and fight for the people for freedom for your very right to exist as a free American. Im one man but I will stand with them and die beside them if I must. Fuck you for even calling yourself a patriot if you would forsake the ones who need you most because you don’t like there ideals.

    Connecticut has 3 options:

    Fold: Rescind the assault weapons ban. Unlikely, since the left has wanted this law for decades. Would be considered a win for the pro-gun lobby, which is unacceptable to the administration.

    Raise: Search and confiscation, prosecution of assault weapons owners. Risky on several levels. Possible revolt, SCOTUS.

    Pass: Leave the assault weapons ban in place but don’t actively enforce it. If a weapon is confiscated or involved in a shooting, the media and administration can use it as propaganda.

    I’m not making any predictions, but I’ll tell you one thing:
    If they raise, all hell is going to break loose. Godspeed, Ct.

    The Liberal Regressives just do not understand “NO!!”, and they are heading right into a hornets’ nest, if the keep pushing this. And, yes, it’ll likely cause martial law being called for, but, I’ll stand for the Constitution & the Bill of Rights!!!

    I’ve been reading different articles about the situation in Connecticut, and something has become apparent: all the numbers are based on either an official estimate, or the estimate of a single article in the newspaper. No one really knows even approximately how many banned weapons are in the state.

    The current guesses are: between 20,000 and 100,000 owners who haven’t registered required firearms, as many as 350,000 now-illegal weapons in homes, and as many as 2,000,000 banned “assault” magazines.

    About 50,000 people in Connecticut complied with the new gun regulations and registered their scary weapons and magazines. What if the low estimate is correct and there are only 20,000 (or less) additional unregistered owners in the state? That would mean voluntary registration was more than 70% effective. To tell you the truth, given Sandy Hook and Connecticut’s uber-liberal attitude, I don’t find that an outrageously unbelievable number.

    Here are my questions: given the administration’s penchant for falsifying numbers and the constant distortion of facts by the media, what advantage would it give them to inflate the numbers of unregistered guns? Would it somehow make passing a federal ban on certain guns easier? Would it help justify declaring martial law? Are the numbers being falsely inflated to rouse anti-gun zealots into action? Is it an attempt to villainize these weapons owners as outlaws? Would it help justify stronger action by Connecticut? Or, is the administration using false numbers force Connecticut to do their dirty work and begin confiscation?

    It’s hard to sell the revocation of Constitutional Rights for a few disgruntled gun owners who really haven’t done anything wrong. But 350,000 illegal weapons and 2,000,000 assault magazines in liberal controlled Connecticut where Sandy Hook occurred? OMG send in the troops!

    I’d like to make it clear that I’m on the side of the non-registering citizens of Connecticut, however many there are. Toying with the possibility of disinformation by the authorities doesn’t lessen the plight of U.S. citizens whose rights are being trampled. I just don’t trust the administration or the media to not distort the facts to their advantage.

    …and I’d like to apologize for overusing this thread. It’s an issue I care deeply about and sometimes I just can’t help myself. 😉

    I’m going to take the opportunity here to “never let a crisis go to waste” and let any CT residents know (esp. those that tried to register) that should they be worried about holding onto their legal firearms and wish to relieve themselves of them, I’m in the market for a bargain. Would like to pickup another 9MM for CC and a couple extra AR type weapons. Would love a Spas-12 GA if someone had one.

    For those who’ve “lost” their weapons, sorry to hear about your loss. You may want to start a recovery group so you all can gather and morn together, secretly of course. God bless you.

      You really don’t want the SPAS-12 unless you’re a really big man, imho. I owned one once. It was fun, and it was cool. But, in the end, it was a lot more weight and bulk than I want to haul into any situation where I want a shotgun. I liked my Mossberg (past tense, since it was lost in that tragic boating accident along with all my other firearms) much better from a tactical standpoint.

        I’m trying to decide between a Mossberg 500, 590, and Rem 870, all 18″-20″. Any advice? I like the quick switch barrels on the Mossbergs where I can go to a longer rifled barrel for sabot slugs if I need distance. Everybody tells me the Rem is a better built gun, though. Intended use is home defense/coyote hunting.

    I am an Army vet and career (retired) law enforcement officer. I prayed this would not happen in our lifetime. Perhaps it was a selfish prayer. There should NOW be solid and frequent communication between all patriot ORGANIZATIONS to formulate a well thought out plan of action. Not a bunch of camo wearing big mouths, but true intelligent lovers of freedom.
    The issue demands clear thinking and PLANNING beyond a few guys making a local stand in Connecticut. Think LARGE PLAN LARGE. We may not get another chance. Do NOT let this glorious Republic slip from our grasp. Bob Farquhar
