Jen Psaki, current State Department spokesperson, has gotten a new gig. Its a Hashtag promotion of sorts. Yes, she is leaving the State Department and moving back… to the White House. No, this isn’t a joke and you are not reading the Onion. CNN’s Eric Bradner reports:
President Barack Obama is tapping a familiar face to fill a key White House role for his last two years in office, hiring State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki as his new communications director.
Psaki, a long-time Obama hand who started as the traveling press secretary during his first presidential campaign, is replacing Jen Palmieri, who’s leaving to take a likely role in Hillary Clinton’s widely-expected presidential campaign.
One wonders what kind of new and improved communications Ms. Jen will bring to her new role? Family style perhaps?
A White House official called her “the obvious and first choice for this role.”
White House aides often talk about “keeping it in the family,” and Psaki is yet another example, like President Barack Obama’s decision last month to replace John Podesta with longtime aide Brian Deese as a senior adviser.
No? Maybe her new role will provide her with new opportunities to communicate the latest in hat or necklace styles?
