Bill and Hillary Clinton and ‘The Great Gatsby’

From the 1990’s until recently, writers have made a connection between Bill Clinton and Jay Gatsby of “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Wired.com in 2011, The Orlando Sentinel in 2000 and The Gay Patriot in 2008 all waxed poetically, and sadly, about the Bill Clinton/Jay Gatsby connection. They are so wrong.

“They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.”
