The Burning of the San Francisco Jersey: A Response to Colin Kaepernick

I am a true Seattle Seahawks fan. I bleed the blue and green. So when The San Francisco 49ers (as we call ’em FortyWhiners) are merely mentioned, I get my best 12th Man smart remarks ready for sparring with fans from the opposite side of the fence.

It’s all fun and games during football season. My friend Jen says that she loves when I go into “Football Lisa” mode. She is a Montana girl and a Broncos diehard and her husband is a Patriots fan so we have had our share of hurling insults at one another on Facebook and defending our team of preference over the past few years. We laugh it all off and come together in the end. Case in point, after Cam Newton’s cocky display and disrespect for the 12th Man flag, I cheered on the Broncos hard last Super Bowl.

Never have I cheered on the 49ers and Colin Kaepernick’s response to the National Anthem cements the fact that I probably never will so long as he is on that team. This man’s response is no less than epic:
