Oregon is a beautiful state. From the dry deserts to the breathtaking coastlines, it has much to offer its residents. My family lived there for about twelve years. We still have many friends there. But three years ago, we just couldn’t take it anymore, and fled the state. Why? Because we recognized the state’s one-party rule evolving into intolerant totalitarianism. And the two most recent stories in its headlines have proven our move to be a wise decision. First, it was the heavy fine of an Oregon bakery who refused to bake a cake for a gay couple, citing their First Amendment rights to do so, who are now facing an unconstitutional silencing of their free speech by the State and a lien on the home where they reside with their six children. Late last night, local news network KOIN News 6 reported on this threatening letter sent home to parents. And it’s nothing short of Orwellian. Watch:
