It is apparent to all but the most obtuse or hateful that Justice Scalia was not just a Constitutional giant, but a man who made friends with all no matter their political or idealogical leanings. In fact one might describe him as a happy warrior with an unparalleled jurisprudence that we will likely never see again in our lifetimes.
The accolades and remembrances have been pouring in from all over. Among the most heartfelt are those from his children and grandchildren, from former clerks, from Stephen Colbert, and most notably this from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg regarding her best buddy.
On Saturday Justice Scalia’s family, friends, and many others from near and far will gather to say goodbye to a man who has made an immeasurable impact as a Supreme Court Justice.
However, there will be one glaringly obvious absence at that service. The President and Michelle will NOT be attending Justice Scalia’s funeral.
