PETA, the “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals” – terrorist activist clusterf*ck – has a new Thanksgiving billboard ad campaign and like many times, it’s aimed at children. Glenn Reynolds notes that PETA unintentionally red-lines the irony meter with this ridiculous ad considering Dear Leader’s revelations. LOL. So, the latest billboard will be placed outside Nevada public schools and will certainly make interesting Thanksgiving dinner table conversation. The billboard reads, “KIDS: If you wouldn’t eat your dog, why eat a turkey? Go vegan,” with a picture of a dog head on a turkey body, near Reno public schools. You can see the actual PETA billboard ad below. Apparently, ads similar to this one will be run outside public schools in California, and were placed in Canada this past September around their Thanksgiving holiday.
Marta Homlberg, associate director of Youth Outreach Campaigns for peta2 actually said this in a press release:
“Kids love animals, and if they thought about how turkeys feel pain and fear just as dogs and cats do, they want to switch out those drumsticks for Tofurky.”
“This Thanksgiving, families can give turkeys something to be thankful for by choosing delicious vegan meals.”
Seriously? Pass me a drumstick.
All of this shock advertising targeting our kids and their developing values is repulsive. But that is who PETA is. PETA activists regularly target children as young as six years old with anti-meat and anti-milk propaganda, often waiting outside their schools to intercept them as they walk to and from class-without notifying parents. One piece of kid-targeted PETA literature tells small children: “Your Mommy Kills Animals!” PETA brags that its messages reach over 2 million children every year, including thousands reached by e-mail without the permission of their parents. One PETA vice president told the Fox News Channel’s audience: “Our campaigns are always geared towards children, and they always will be.”
And because PETA is all about the kids, they’re also offering free tombstones to stick into the Thanksgiving turkey. The tombstone reads, “Here Lies the Corpse of a Tortured Bird.” Nice touch on the Thanksgiving table don’t you think?
Check out this ad made by PETA targeting out kids back in 2009. And yeah…in PETA’s world, it’s okay to hurt humans, but not to hurt animals.
