So Chelsea Manning was released from Ft. Leavenworth prison on Wednesday. Naturally he/she posted pictures on Instagram and Twitter. Because that’s what the self-absorbed do.
Are you curious about the new Chelsea, freed from prison garb?
Here he/she is! Just fabulous! He/she even poses in a little low-cut black number. Gag.
Of course he/she had plenty of people applauding his/her release.
The Women’s March was thrilled.
Amnesty International celebrated his/her release after a “cruel ordeal,” and released this video:
Aren’t you inspired? Me neither.
National Review’s David French, a former JAG officer and Iraq War veteran, reminded us today of just what Chelsea/Bradley did:
Bradley Manning was no ordinary “leaker.” When he dumped hundreds of thousands of military and diplomatic secrets into the public domain, he violated every single tenet of the warrior ethos. He abandoned the mission. He “accepted” defeat and, through his data dumps, worked to facilitate it. He quit on his comrades, acting with utter, callous disregard for their lives. His message to his unit and to his nation was clear: He would disobey lawful orders and risk killing his comrades to, in his words, stimulate “worldwide discussions, debates, and reforms.”
And who’s responsible for this traitor’s release? President Obama, who commuted his 35-year sentence to the seven years he served.
Had Chelsea/Bradley Manning pulled this stunt during World War II, he/she would’ve faced a firing squad. Not a makeup mirror.
