Now, that Donald Trump is going to “Make America Great Again” the next step will be to “Make Men Great Again”. Since the totally metrosexual Barack H. Obama became President of the United States, the bashing of men and I mean “manly men” has become like an avalanche. Unstoppable, indiscriminate and destructive. Male bashing excludes Muslim men and most, but not all, minority men.

Mad Men actress January Jones got my Irish up with an article in a magazine called Red. Miss Jones, apparently, does not need a man in her life. Fine. She has a son whose father she will not name/doesn’t know. Here is what the actress said about having a father/man around her son.

“It’s good to have strong women around a man,” she continues. “To teach him to respect women. He doesn’t have a male person in his life saying ‘don’t cry’ or ‘you throw like a girl’. All those shitty things dads accidentally do.” Her male friends “want to be around him because he’s such a fun kid”, but she’s candid about the fact that she doesn’t have a partner.

Miss Jones considers herself immature.

“I’m an emotionally immature person. I’m an actor for God’s sake. I see myself behaving like a child all the time.”

“I made Xander eggs, toast, a smoothie. And he spat out his blueberries, threw the eggs into the sink, was playing with his toast, and I just lost my shit. I was like, ‘Mummy made this breakfast for you!’ And he was like, ‘I don’t want it.’ And I took the plate and threw it in the garbage, in tears. I’m fighting with a five-year-old and acting like one. Someone needs to be the mature one here, but I had a full tantrum.”

Everyone has bad days. Every mother and father has argued with a child. When you add that to her attitude about men and that’s a toxic “Mad Men” cocktail. I don’t get how bashing men is empowering to a woman.
