As the world focuses on the circus that is the Olympics, the Personal Pronoun in Chief’s BFF Iran has decided to send a little pre-St. Valentine’s Day billet-doux in the form of a quick jaunt of its warships through U.S. waters. I’m sure it doesn’t mean anything, though, since Herr Barry trusts them so much.
Oh, wait…….
“Iran’s military fleet is approaching the United States’ maritime borders, and this move has a message,” Haddad reportedly said, according to Fars, a semi-official Iranian news agency.
After being told repeatedly by both Republicans and Democrats in Congress that his foreign policy regarding Iran was erroneous and dangerous, our laughingstock of a “leader” is off on his perpetual campaign route while we sit and watch the world inch ever-so-closer to our role as the leader of the free world.
From Rand Paul:
“On a foreign policy issue of this magnitude, it is my strong belief that any further agreement – be it interim or final – that lifts statutory sanctions on Iran should require approval by the Congress before taking effect. Please let me know if it is your intent to seek this approval for any subsequent interim or final deal,” Paul wrote to both Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry.
“The intent of Congress was not simply to allow the President to waive all the sanctions in perpetuity at his behest,” he continued.
“Like you, I am hopeful a peaceful resolution can be reached. However, in the course of those negotiations, it is both my hope and expectation that the Congress will continue its role as an integral participant in our foreign policy toward Iran.”
So, how ’bout those sanctions now, boy-prez?
