I almost never touch the third rail of the “abortion issue.” By and large, I have been a pure libertarian in this regard. As long as your rights don’t infringe on my rights, that is a decision between you and God. Have mercy on your soul.  But when I read this Time Magazine article I about lost my mind.  Not only was the 1976 Hyde Amendment stricken from the proposed federal spending bill, but the lesser known 1973 Helms Amendment was dropped from the State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs spending bill.  You and I would be forced to pay for abortions both here AND abroad.  I just couldn’t speak in coherent sentences after reading the piece.
