As a dark beast that lives in the minds of those who wish him ill, President Donald Trump cycles through his symbolic personas stunningly fast and it all depends on the diagnostician. We have had the carnival barker/conman and the strongman/madman (Hitler), the idiot/feeble minded man and now the criminal gangster/mob boss. You see these non-Jungian archetypes in articles written in mainstream publications and filtered through to general conversations. I am NOT going to say that those who buy into the archetypes have no/little imagination rather I think that they pick them up as a shorthand for what is going on in the media cycle at the moment.
