If there’s a way to flog alleged “racism” all over the country, the social justice zealots will find it. It’s much easier to claim racism and stroke one’s supposed “victimhood” stiffy than it is to work to overcome challenges. That’s hard work, ya know!

A few days ago, the Daily Caller ridiculed an article penned by Brooklyn Law School professor Alice Ristroph for using the recent solar eclipse to flog the racism message. Because, see, the eclipse points out just how segregated, racist, and culturally terrible our history has been, and how divided we still are.  The skies are trying to tell us something, Ristroph claims.

When the lovely glow of a backlight fades, history is relentless, just one damn fact after another, one damning fact after another. America is a nation with debts that no honest man can pay. It is too much to ask that these debts simply be forgiven. But perhaps the strange path of the eclipse suggests a need for reorganization. We have figured out, more or less, how to count every person. We have not yet found a political system in which every person counts equally.

Meteorological phenomena apparently highlight just how racist we allegedly are. (I always have to wonder if North Africans and their descendants have repaid the Jews for viciously enslaving them, or is the debt repaid, because the Jews overcame their history and managed to adapt, adjust, and achieve over the centuries.)
