Farook was born in the United States, was a county employee, and had been working at the Public Health Department for the last five years. Malik’s status is unknown, but she and Farook were in a relationship – other sources have said that they were married.

A total of three potential bomb-like devices were “disposed” of by the authorities.

Farook and Malik were killed in a shootout with police earlier. Farook’s name came up early in the investigation, as reports of a dispute at the Health Department’s meeting or party were traced back to him. The police chief stated that in the course of checking out “multiple addresses” that Farook was associated with, a warrant was served at a residence in Redlands, CA. During that visit, contact was made with a vehicle that matched the description of the getaway car.
A shootout ensued. Farook and Malik were both armed.

Both were killed in the shootout, and one police officer was injured (is hospitalized, and expected to recover). Fox News reported on air that Farook and Malik were married, with a 6 month old baby.
Just before the police press conference, CAIR held a press conference in Anaheim, and trotted out Farook’s brother-in-law.

There are reports that both Farook and Malik were wearing GoPro cameras. God only knows what kind of footage they recorded.
Adam Housley of Fox News reported that “go bags” were also found – luggage packed for a quick escape. Between that, and the amount of weapons and ammunition found, indicates that this was a well planned attack, not a spontaneous shooting.
Victory Girls will continue to update this story as we learn more information.
Update: the photo of Farook has been changed, as media reports initially ran using his brother’s picture instead. Farook’s brother is named Syed Raheel Farook, which accounts for the confusion. We regret the error.
