Yesterday morning a woman by the name of Tricia Bishop, Contact Reporter for the Baltimore Sun, wrote a stunning article. The article itself (read here) is packed to the brim with a vilifying narrative and white privilege, but it was the featured image (right) that caught my eye right from the start. Yes, that is a freshly manicured index finger resting on the boom switch. Those of us who are law abiding gun owners know that you don’t put your finger on the trigger – ever – until you’re prepared to fire your weapon. I guess they didn’t teach that lesson in Tricia’s lily-white Stepford Wives neighborhood, where she has “the luxury of being white and middle class in a largely segregated city that reserves most of its shootings for poor, black neighborhoods overtaken by “the game.”
The game? Clearly somebody watched Boyz n the Hood when Ward and June Cleaver were spending the evening out at the Rotary Club.
The article goes on to propose the idea of a public registry for gun owners, and she notes that it would be “something like those for sex offenders.” Which of course makes anyone with an IQ higher than that of Lennie Small wonder just how many individuals would be raped and murdered after criminals used the registry and broke into the homes of those not listed. Think about it, though… Why not put millions of men, women, and children in danger when the other option of simply asking “Do you have guns in your home?” would require that Tricia put down her Soy No Foam Half-Fat Latte and dial her phone.
