Just recently Egyptian President Abdel Attah al-Sisi took a remarkable step in speaking out against the violence which is consuming his religion of Islam. On January 1 he called a meeting of Islamic leaders at Islam’s most prominent seminary, Al Azhar, based in Cairo.
Before TV cameras, al-Sisi said:
“Is it possible that 1.6 billion people [Muslims] should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants — that is seven billion — so that they themselves may live? Impossible!” . . . .
”That thinking — I am not saying ‘religion’ but ‘thinking’ — that corpus of texts and ideas that we have sacralized over the years, to the point that departing from them has become almost impossible, is antagonizing the entire world. It’s antagonizing the entire world!”
“You need to step outside of yourselves to be able to observe it and reflect on it from a more enlightened perspective. … We are in need of a religious revolution. You, imams, are responsible before Allah. The entire world, I say it again, the entire world is waiting for your next move … because this umma [Muslim community] is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost — and it is being lost by our own hands.”
Boom.
Does Obama side with al-Sisi? Eh, not so much. His falls into his usual modus operandi; i.e., hold a meeting on February 18 to discuss the prevention of “violent extremism” in the United States. He didn’t mention Islam. Again.
Nor will he. This is the president who, in 2012, declared that “The future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”

Then there’s Hillary Clinton, AKA, “She Who Would be Queen” (er, President), who just this past December made the boneheaded declaration that America should ’empathize’ with its enemies, calling it “smart power.”
And speaking of ‘prophet of Islam,’ what’s with all these media elites insistent on labeling Mohammed as the “Prophet” Mohammed? He’s not my prophet. One would have to believe that old Mo spoke divinely as a messenger from God, and I don’t believe that. Nor does anyone who is not Muslim believe that.
Would the news media address the God in whom I believe, Jesus Christ, as “our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?” Would the media toss a bone to Catholic Christians and refer to “our Blessed Mother Mary?” Snort. It would never happen, because Christians don’t annihilate people who don’t believe as they do. When was the last time you heard a clergyman demand that his parishioners “kill the infidel”?
But our elite — from the President down to his media lapdogs — deny that we are truly at war with radical Islam. We may not have declared war, but radical Islam has declared war on us.
In World War II, the nation was awash with posters like this one:
And like this one:
Japs? Fritz? Those are cringeworthy terms, especially 70+ years on. But those images exemplified a powerful nation who realized she was in a war, and that there were enemies who would annihilate her.
Instead we are led by feckless apologists for a religion whose leaders ultimately wish to wipe out the practice and the practitioners of any other religion other than theirs.
