Eight years ago today, the USS Cole was attacked by terrorists off the coast of Yemen.
Michelle has some moving videos:
17 sailors lost their lives that day due to a suicide bomb. 39 more were injured.
Over at Flopping Aces, a father of one of the murder sailors speaks. Conservative Belle remembers.
The media isn’t remembering. But the American people will. The Navy’s memorial is here.
Never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms.
Thank-you for Remembering the USS Cole and the murdered sailors.
Unforunatley your right about the media. The of the most significant attacks in our countrys history. Yet the Cole is just too political for both parties. My family and I thank-you for your work.

A nice memorial to the USS Cole. No the media does not have much to say about the tragedy of the Cole eight years ago. I saw one short clip about the bombing on Sunday. Our family will never forget that tragic day that changed all of our lives forever. Our son was on the Cole that day, and will be haunted by it forever. I don’t beleive our country then or now ever did enough for the families, or the survivors. We will always remember October 12, 2000.

About a mile from where I live in Mechanicsville, VA, is a bridge that was renamed for Lt. Eugene Clodfelter, who was killed in the attack on the USS Cole. It’s a good reminder that there are people in the world who want to kill us.
