Keith Olbermann flexes his brain muscles in this new video discussing the ongoing drama with the Miss California organization, Perez Hilton, and Carrie Prejean. What probably shows the most about Keith Olbermann’s intellect and clarity on the issue, however, is when Olby calls Perez Hilton an “intellectual titan and civil rights leader”, and denounces Prejean as nothing but an idiot… because she has breast implants.

Key quote:
Perez Hilton looks like an intellectual titan and, and, some sort of uh, uh, civil rights leader and the new poster girl for same-sex marriage is not just a boob, but a fake boob.
And scrolling through Perez Hilton’s website today, I was treated to such intellectual thoughts such as:
The hawtness that is Megan Fox sizzles in the new issue of the fashion mag.
Now when is she and Angie gonna star in a movie together????
Must happen!
And:
Just last month, GaGa was spotted in London with a see-through black top on and some black tape over her nipples.
This, weekend the fashionista decided to go for a see-through red jumpsuit as she made her way through New York City after her concert. Though she left the black tape behind, this time opting to cover her nips in a coordinating red lace type of pasty.
Matching your pasties to the lace on your arm? Too much? Or kind of interesting?
What do U think of her look?
And:
She hasn’t retired yet????
Kate Moss must have been in a K-Hole when she went to the fabric store and whipped this outfit together herself.
It’s like a bad tranny’s disco interpretation of Wonder Woman meets the Great Gatsby. But worse!
The haggard model was accompanied by Marc Jacobs to the Met’s Costume Institute Gala in NYC on Monday night.
Yes. Keith Olbermann is right. Perez Hilton is an intellectual titan. It takes so much brainpower to draw semen on celebrities’ mouths and trash their clothing and talk about nipple pasties. And hey, calling someone a “dumb bitch” for disagreeing with you, and then going on a rampage to tear them down, is surely the kind of thing that real civil rights leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr would advocate.
She’s expressing her opinion, and he’s trying to ruin her for it.
And hey, it looks like Perez Hilton is going to get his wish. Miss California organizer Keith Lewis spoke to GayWired about the controversy swirling around Prejean, and had some not-too-nice things to say, including threats to remove her crown:
GayWired: Is there anything in her contract that prohibits Miss California from being a spokesperson for The National Organization for Marriage while wearing the crown?
Keith Lewis: It’s a very lengthy contract that limits many activities including many of the activities we are dealing with right now. We wanted Carrie Prejean to clarify her beliefs, because the way she was vilified was not consistent with what she wanted to be received by her answer. She really wanted to clarify her answers and we wanted to give her that opportunity.
Although I don’t personally agree with her beliefs, I do believe that she entitled to them. And we allowed her that time.
GW: What happened in the days after the pageant?
KL: What then [transpired] was conservative groups saw her as a real lightning rod for their issues and [decided] to take her as their own and escalate her voice into their message.
The situation went from bad to worse. And for us, we’re out doing everything that we can, now that she has officially come out so strong. Even though she has done [this] as Carrie Prejean…we have done everything in our power to limit the confusion in the market place about who is speaking these words and that it is not Miss California, but Carrie Prejean.
We still are frustrated with that confusion.
GW: So why not just take her crown if she’s in violation?
KL: We are really faced with a dilemma [over whether] to exercise the contract and remove her crown, because it would in fact only escalate her standing within the very issue that we are trying to minimize and only escalate her standing with those individuals who have stolen her title.
We want to make sure that our legacy is one that we are proud of. I do admire her courage for standing up for her beliefs and yet at the same time, I’m very much aware of the role of Miss California and what we are trying to do with the woman who is crowned and represents the state of California.
GW: What does it mean to be Miss California?
KL: Our specific platform is all about diversity and embracing what is so unique about California. That’s why this is especially difficult for us. The very platform we have is celebrating the diversity of California and here we are in the midst of drawing some line and saying that one belief is better than the other. And that’s really contrary to what we stand for.
GW: So she’s keeping the crown.
KL: I think her fifteen minutes are about up.
So diversity and tolerance, to liberals and gay activisits like Keith Lewis and Perez Hilton only goes so far. Lewis might as well have said, “Look bitch, we let you say what you wanted to say on the stage for Miss USA. Now shut your trap because your turn to speak is over. You’re lucky you haven’t lost the crown already, now get back in line.” It says a lot more about Keith Lewis and the Miss California organization than it does about Carrie Prejean. Where is the feminist outrage here? Women aren’t supposed to be judged for their bodies, yet she’s getting slammed for having breast implants. Women are supposed to be just an intellectually strong as men, yet they can only hold certain valid opinions. Beauty pageants are supposedly about empowering women, but you can only say certain things and they had better not be offensive.
All of this is truly pathetic. I do not know what will happen with Carrie Prejean, but I predicted that the campaign to destroy her was beginning. And apparently, I am right. And why does she need to be destroyed by these liberals and gay activisits? Because she expressed a semi-controversial opinion that they didn’t like in a polite respectful manner.
Is this the country we are going to live in if things keep going the way they are? Is our country going to be one where only certain opinions are valid and accepted, and all other opinions aren’t allowed to be expressed? Will we let that happen? I certainly hope not.
Carrie, keep on fighting. I, at least, am behind you — breast implants and all.
You know, that’s very true. The silence from Feministing is astounding. The supposedly tolerant folks in California are vilifying this girl left & right, and the feminist reaction has been “*crickets*” so far.
I’m more of a natural guy when it comes to breasts. There was scene in LA Story when Steve Martin grabbed Sarah Jessica Parker’s boob and the following exchange ensued:
“Your breasts feel strange.”
“That’s because they’re real.”
Frankly, they’re her boobs and she can install a Nike Air pump in them for all I care. And I’ll bet that the Olberdouche would install one in his weenie if given the chance. That wouldn’t make me mock his intellect. The fact that he opens his mouth on a regular basis gives me plenty of opportunities to do that.
Is English Mr. Hilton’s first language?
Maybe feminists don’t care because this woman is getting too much media attention. I’m wondering why people won’t let this chick be. I however don’t agree with her opinion on gay marriage but I don’t think we should be bashing her in the media either. You should just let her die out.
Libs put blacks, asians, indians, gays and any other minority in a room and think they are diverse even tho they all think THE SAME THING.
I’m guessing that Olbermann and Hilton are obsessed with fake boobs because they are a couple of real ones themselves.
At what point does political speech of this type become sexual harassment? I am pretty sure that, in a work setting, Perez Hilton would have already violated Carrie Prejean’s civil rights. You can’t badger and call people names at work based on their sexuality, why can Perez Hilton do so as a judge in a contest? Are not his statements concerning his motivation before and after the famous confrontation self-incriminating? Are there no lawyers in California that crave a bit of TV time? First I’d heard…
“GW: What does it mean to be Miss California?
KL: Our specific platform is all about…celebrating the diversity of California and here we are in the midst of drawing some line and saying that one belief is better than the other. And that’s really contrary to what we stand for.”
Is this clod listening to himself? He’s “drawing some line and saying that one belief is better than the other”, but criticizing someone else for doing the same thing? I wonder sometimes how LLLs manage to get out of bed and get dressed w/o inflicting serious injury on themselves.
The funny thing is: Who was it who injected politics into the Miss America pageant? Was it Miss Prejean? No, it was Perez Hilton. He’s the one who brought up the subject of gay marriage. So if pagaent officials are so upset about their show being politicized, why aren’t they attacking Hilton? Why aren’t they declaring that in the future such questions will be off limits, and that it was a horrible mistake that they hadn’t thought to do this before?
Could it be … I gasp at the very thought … that they have no problem with injecting politics into their pagaent, as long as it’s the right kind of politics? Or rather, as long as it’s the left kind of politics.
If you call Perez Hilton anything remotely close to an “intellectual titan”, there is something seriously wrong in your brain. Period. This is not an opinion, it is unassailable truth. Only someone who is deranged or deeply retarded could ever say that.
All this stuff with Carrie has really pissed me off.
Before this, I really didn’t care one way or the other about the whole gay marriage issue.
This, on top of the backlash against Mormons with prop 8, has made me a permanent enemy of the gay advocacy organizations. They showed their true face, and it was hideous.
I still don’t really care about gay marriage, but I’ll fight against it (and anything else the gay lobby tries for) out of spite.
I have no sympathy for anyone who would use these people as spokespersons.
I don’t know about gay politics, but I do know that Miss Prejean was entitled to her opinion, and Perez Hilton used her as a scapegoat.
I am a supporter of gay married– in the eyes of the state. I don’t think any church should be required to marry someone if it is against their beliefs– even heterosexual couples that are two different ethnic groups if that is what they believe. But there is a separation of church and state, and until the right has a single non-religious reason that gay marriage shouldn’t be allowed we have to regard this as a NON-RELIGIOUS issue.
My point– don’t cry for freedom of religion and then impose your religious restrictions on others.
