Last year, I noted that Google did nothing to honor the anniversary of the worst attack to ever take place on American soil.
This year is no different.
As many of you know, Google has different quirky little logos that they have for all of the major holidays and events throughout the year. They usually get the “important” ones like Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and so on. They usually leave out Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, and of course, 9-11. Here are some of the important days they felt needed to be honored so far this year.
First Day of Spring:
Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli’s birthday:
Dr. Seuss’ birthday:
Charles Darwin’s birthday:
Jackson Pollock’s birthday:
But interestingly, there’s nothing to commemorate 9-11. And they haven’t, not even once since 9-11. However, last year Dogpile did recognize the somber day, and they recognized it again this year:
I think it’s about time that we stopped using Google and started using Dogpile. We say we’re going to do it year after year, but we never actually do. The fact that Google can’t commemorate the deaths of almost 3,000 Americans who were murdered in cold blood by Islamic jihadists in the worst attack on American soil ever is, frankly, disgusting.
http://www.bing.com has the blue lights shining up into the sky.
What else would one expect from Google, who lays with the commies in China.
I have noted this elsewhere, but I’m VERY disappointed in Google for their lack of respect for the men & women killed on this date. Regardless of your conspiracy theories, opinions of Bush, etc, today was the date that 343 Fire/EMS/Police heroes died, and I am disgusted that Google didn’t have the decency to even note it on their page. The other search engines did.
Google DID take the time recently to make a silly UFO logo to commemorate “All Your Base Are Belong To Us” though. (“AYB” was a take off from a Japanese video game and became a viral video)
That’s important enough for Google to create a special logo for, but not 9/11?
RIP, lost brothers & sisters from FDNY.
Which is why I don’t use Google.
I haven’t been using Google for some time because of their leftist attitude. It’s not just this, but also their blocking of some sites which disagree with the left on issues – such as the constant problems as the “Dissecting Leftism” blog has in being blocked by them. So I’ve been using Dogpile and Bing for some time.
GREAT post and sooo needed too. You are so right, Google has
gotten worse. Thank you for all the work you did about this.
I’ve been using Dogpile and Bing for a while now.
I BING.
Google may as well be written in Arabic, for all I care.
