On CNBC Friday, Hakeem Jeffries probably expected the usual media tongue-bath interview for his GOP bashing on ObamaCare tax extensions. Host Rebecca Quick didn’t follow the script and Jeffries melted down.
Jeffries, House Minority Leader, may have thought he would get the same groveling supplication afforded Nancy Pelosi through the years. Rebecca Quick was sure to firmly disabuse him of that notion.
Jeffries is currently seeking a three-year rather than a two-year extension on Biden-era subsidies in the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which Republicans are not open to. During an appearance on “Squawk Box,” Jeffries became visibly angry at Quick after she suggested that he wants the tax credits to lapse in order to allow Republicans “to hang themselves.”
Roll tape:
HOLY CRAP! BRUTAL moment as Hakeem Jeffries LOSES IT on CNBC host actually pressing him into answering the question. He just embarrassed himself big time.

Listen, this is not a partisan fight for us. It’s a patriotic fight,” Jeffries continued.
Oooo…. The Resistance™ is pATriOtIC!!! Which is exactly why they keep the Fed Government shut down for over 40 days while snickering to their buds that they had to destroy the village inflict pain in order to save it win.
Sure, dude. So much patriotism Jeffries tried the same extension Hail Mary to scuttle the Continuing Resolution over a week ago. Somehow the hubris-dipped Democrat figured he could just start appearing on shows to bloviate about the only solution when government fails is MOAR GUBMINT! and whining that Republicans “refused to take Yes for an answer.”
Yes? To extending subsidies to a deliberately flawed healthcare plan that has inflated insurance companies’ net profits while furthering burdening the taxpayer? While net profits fell for 2024, they grew steadily from 2015 (ACA aka ObamaCare took effect in 2014) with peak in 2020 when tax subsidies were approved. Even 2024 exceeds 2014.
Rather than tax subsidies to ObamaCare (and industry donations to Democrats to keep the status quo), maybe the incentive is finally afoot to consider other ideas when it comes to healthcare affordability.
The Senate Finance Committee is set to hold a hearing to consider “meaningful solutions” to the problem of increasing healthcare costs.
President Donald Trump opposes extending the subsidies. He supports sending funds directly to consumers instead of insurance companies. “Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies … BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE,” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.
The president expanded on the issue during a press conference in Florida. He indicated he had “personal talks with some Democrats” about the direct healthcare payment plan.

ObamaCare was to push voters into accepting a nationalized healthcare regime. Jeffries and the rest of the Democrats should understand that they don’t get to stampede us there. It starts with media interviewers like Rebecca Quick.

“Hakeem”…..That’s Irish, isn’t it?
I’ve always thought it amusing that so many blacks have muslim or arabic names when it was those folks who ran the African slave markets.
