Democrat congressional incumbent Dennis Moore calls his disabled Marine veteran opponent “white trash”
Next post
As if the Democratic party couldn’t sink any lower, we have some new asshole come along and say this:
Speaking to a respected Hispanic leader in KCK, Dennis Moore reportedly called decorated and disabled Marine Veteran and Congressional Opponent “White Trash” in a recent (recorded) telephone conversation. The KCK leader, who has formally supported the incumbent congressman, is supporting Daniel Gilyeat’s candidacy for the Kansas 3rd District Congressional seat. Dennis Moore called the KCK man after hearing the Hispanic community leader’s support had changed. Dennis Moore said he had $7 million for the campaign and could not believe the naturalized citizen was supporting “White Trash” over Moore.
Daniel Gilyeat is running against Moore in Kansas and was serving his second term in Iraq when he lost his leg to an IED. “I lost my leg but found my voice,” Gilyeat said to a crowd Saturday at the Veteran’s memorial. Gilyeat did not comment about Moore’s description of him other than to smile and say he had heard of the comment from the man Moore was speaking to.
If you ever wonder how Democrats really feel about our Armed Services, then here you go. They have no respect for our military or the heroes who serve in it. Dennis Moore is just the latest. This kind of behavior is all too common on the left and for some reason, they never get called on it. Frankly, I can’t believe there’s not a greater outrage. I know that I am furious on behalf of Mr. Gilyeat.
I think I’d like to extend an invitation to Mr. Moore to come visit Jacksonville, NC and repeat that comment in, say, Sharpshooters. You know, just to see what would happen.
Hat Tip: LGF2
I’d like him to come to wherever I am and say that. I’d whup him with my cane.
I am exteremly disappointed at a member of the US Congress or any person for that matter who would disparage a member of the Armed forces. Someone who is willing to serve their country again, this time in the halls of congress.
Mr Moore is the one who is sorry piece of “White Trash”
Cassy
See if we can get wider distribution of this. You know the mainstream press will not pick it up.
It’s no secret that the military is loathed by liberal democrats but this is not a case of soldier-bashing so much as one of Caucasian-bashing that backfired. I think he was hoping to capitalize on any latent prejudice the Hispanic leader might have towards white rubes, but there wasn’t any. The worst democrats always try and play the part of any race they’re patronizing (remember the Clinton people referring to him as the first “black president?”)
He underestimated two things:
1) The lack of any prejudice whatsoever on the part of the Hispanic leader. This guy clearly does not use the word “gringo” in private conversation.
2) The amount of social gravitas that comes from getting your leg blown off while serving your country.
I don’t know the voter situation in this race, but I would imagine that with those two words, “white trash,” the Marine will sail to victory.
Edward,
The left hates the military because it’s a potential power player. Think of all the leftist regimes out there who “redesigned” their armies or created homegrown ones (can anyone say Obama’s National Service Reserve Corps?). Hell even the Soviet leadership never really trusted their own Red Army (and look what Stalin did to the officer corps there in the 30’s).
Although a lot of people would call bullshit on this, I do believe that the left does want to stir the social shitstorm in this country so much that it creates a lot of instability because that’s the only way they can come to power here. The military would be a huge block on that instability.
Am I saying all Democrats are leftists? Nope (at least, not yet). But they have serious backing from the leftists.
Do I see a Purple Heard on that man’s chest? Nothing but respect form me. The man has gone through the gates of hell and came back. For what? Our freedom and saftey. Also for the freedom and saftey of people in other countries.
I was a soldier and there is a lot of good natured banter back and forth between the Army and the Marines. It is called mutual respect. I think Cassy understands. One says one thing about the other and back and forth. Funny stuff. But always respectful to the fullest.
In this case it was no light hearted banter. This was an attack. Pure and simple. It should be treated as such. I really wish some lefty would get in the face of this veteran. No I wouldn’t get violent. I would ignore. Completly ignore the person’s existance. That is the worst slap in the face you can give a lefty.
Wow, you really ran with that one. I mean, since the guy is disabled he’s untouchable, right? I certainly can’t condone a member of congress calling anyone “white trash”, however he never made fun of his disability or cracked one about his military service. You’re projecting a whole lot into this, more than is warranted. It’s politics – always ugly, always unfair. If the man isn’t tough enough to take a BS comment like that in stride he needs to withdraw. Seems to me he weathered the comment quite well and you’re just being overly sensitive. Please explain to me how calling someone “white trash” justifies your desire to physically harm Moore.
FYI – Yeah, I used to be a democrat. I also used to be in the army. I find your comment about how democrats view the military to be totally laughable. I am to this day proud to have served in the military, and I am also proud to have in my own small way protected the rights of Americans to disagree, rant, rave, protest, bitch, whine and moan without fear of retribution from their government or their fellow citizens. If you do a little homework, you may be suprised to se how much funding was cut from veteran’s programs during the Bush years. Also remember that Rumsfeld (R-fucking prick) put countless soldiers in harm’s way by trying to “do” war on the “cheap”. As you may recall, the former Secretary of Treasonous Defense failed to provide adequate equipment to our troops in Iraq.
In short, maybe you should examine the failures of both parties to adequately support and respect the troops before making such blanket statements.
Wow, didn’t like my comment eh? You could have at least had the courage to post it. What a wimp!
