Activist Parent Calls Kids ‘Dead to Her’ – Exposing the Abuse Behind Performative Activism

An activist parent recently made headlines by proudly declaring that four of her seven kids are queer. The other three? “Dead to her.” That’s not an exaggeration—it’s her actual statement, made without hesitation.  And the scariest part? This woman has a platform and the influence to shape public discourse in ways that extend far beyond her own family.

This isn’t just a misguided attempt at humor. It’s an alarming glimpse into the kind of performative activism that puts personal gain over family and real human connection.

An Activist Parent

Now imagine that for a second. Actually sit with it. Imagine being one of those three kids hearing your mother publicly call you “dead” because you didn’t come out with the right label. This isn’t just cringey. It’s what emotional abuse looks like in 2025, gift-wrapped in virtue signals and hashtag activism.

Performative & Abuse

Now here’s the kicker: this woman isn’t just some random internet mom oversharing on TikTok. Karen Svoboda is the Executive Director of an organization called Defense of Democracy. Sounds noble, right? A group supposedly dedicated to “inclusive” and “fact-based” public education. She even wrote a children’s book. About disability awareness. You know, because she’s so invested in kindness and empathy.

Except when it comes to her own children.

These people are attempting to disguise real harm and emotional abuse as a form of social progress. They wrap their toxic actions in the language of empowerment and inclusion, but the reality is far darker. What they’re selling isn’t liberation—it’s control, manipulation, and a complete disregard for the well-being of their own children. And if we let them get away with this, we’re allowing the normalization of cruelty masquerading as compassion.

Karen Svoboda likes to pick fights with the group Moms For Liberty and made the local news in Oklahoma over books in the library way back in 2023. The website Influence Watch has several entries on her and the group she represents. And of course, her podcast.

The Harm

This is where we are. Children—real human beings—reduced to political props in their own homes. If you don’t fit the label, if you don’t make mom look progressive enough on LinkedIn, you’re expendable. Erased. “Dead to her.”

That’s not quirky, and it’s certainly not brave. That’s abuse masquerading as enlightenment. It’s time we start exposing them for who they really are—child abusers. I’m sure you’ve seen the snippets of the video circulating on X titled Mommy Won’t Love Me If I’m Not a Girl. The video below shares the heartbreaking story from the perspective of the little boy’s father. You should watch it in its entirety.

Activist parents like Karen Svoboda aren’t just after attention—they’re working to normalize child abuse. They’re trying to spread this toxic message to the masses and call it progress? It’s not progress. It’s an attempt to normalize harm, and you are to sit back and accept it.
