WikiLeaks E-mails Put Catholics and Christians In Hillary’s Basket of Deplorables

Whilst Hillary Clinton supporters have been clutching their pearls at Donald Trump’s sexist remarks for days, the latest WikiLeaks shows key staffers of the Hillary Clinton campaign smearing Conservative Catholicism as “backwards” and “bastardization”.

The exchange occurred in 2011 between Clinton campaign Director of Communications Jennifer Palmieri, (then president of the leftist Center for American Progress), John Halpin, a senior fellow for CAP, and Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta (who does not comment in the thread).

“I imagine they think it is the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion. Their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they became evangelicals.”-Jennifer Palmieri

Halpin goes on to call Catholics “severely backwards”:

“It’s an amazing bastardization of the faith. They must be attracted to the systematic thought and severely backwards gender relations and must be totally unaware of Christian democracy.”-John Halpin

The entire exchange can be read here.

Halpin criticized 21st Century Fox Chairman Rupert Murdoch, CEO of Fox News, and NewsCorp Chairman Robert Thomson for raising their children Catholic stating “Friggin’ Murdoch baptized his kids in Jordan where John the Baptist baptized Jesus”.

I am by no means condoning Mr. Trump’s remarks and brushing them off here. But the underlying implications of key Clinton campaign staffers and their comments about Catholics and Christianity in general beg some questions. The “most socially acceptable politically conservative religion”? A “bastardization of faith?” “Systemic thought and severely backwards gender relations”? Can we be any more pretentious and condescending? Can we expect any less from a group of people whose main objective is to make someone who says “religious beliefs must be changed” look like a viable and competent candidate?

As far as openly Catholic VP Candidate Tim Kaine goes, I guess he apparently has “evolved” and is no “Friggin’ Murdoch”.

Catholic friends for Hillary, be wary. The Hillary camp is watching you. They think your religion is in the dark ages with its “systemic thought” and “backwards gender relations” but your money and your votes are all good. Don’t fool yourself into thinking HRC herself does not feel the same way. And before you go off to the Holy Land to attempt to attach some significance upon your religious beliefs, tread carefully. You may be viewed as “backward”…especially if you attach a holy sacrament to the journey. And, you may want to check and see if your religion is socially acceptable enough for the likes of your friends in high places. After all, some of your rich friends may not understand if you became a tongue-speaking, arm-flailing evangelist and you may be regarded as someone who drank waaaaayyyy too much of that religious Kool-Aid!

There is a reason why individuals such as Halpin and Palmieri are now with her. They see her vision. Catholic friends for Hillary, go ahead and carry on with your “socially acceptable politically Conservative religion” and don’t do anything too wacky or your rich, agnostic friends might put you in Hillary’s Basket of Deplorables. You’ll be in good company though, with the rest of us in that basket trying hard to wrap our brains around why you would vote for an individual whose camp holds you and your Faith in this regard.

This should cause Catholics to reconsider the candidates, but it isn’t just a warning for Catholics. Hillary has contempt for every one who opposes what she wants. Women, children, people of faith..are all equally despised, if they are not bowing down at the altar of progressive Marxism.
