West Hollywood City Council Passes Meaningless Resolution Over Trump Star [VIDEO]

The West Hollywood City Council doesn’t think that Donald Trump deserves his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and after the latest vandalism, they want it removed. Because Trump, naturally.

The vote was unanimous, of course.

But just wait a minute. This resolution, by the West Hollywood City Council’s own admission, is absolutely meaningless. Why? The Hollywood Walk of Fame isn’t located in West Hollywood. It’s in Hollywood, and under the jurisdiction of… the Los Angeles City Council!

The city council confirmed to The Hill that it “voted unanimously to approve” the resolution, which urges the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the marker.

The council now plans to send a formal letter to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti (D), the Los Angeles City Council and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for consideration, ABC News reported Tuesday morning.

Not that anyone casually scanning the headlines would actually realize that.

The West Hollywood City Council passing a resolution to ask the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for Donald Trump’s star to be removed is the equivalent of the Los Angeles City Council passing a resolution to ask the Anaheim City Council to fix a ride at Disneyland. It. Is. Meaningless.

The reactions are priceless, once you realize that the West Hollywood City Council has zero authority to actually do anything.

Some people tried to point out the problem.

But it doesn’t matter. They’re rolling.

And that’s not even getting into the obvious hypocrisy issues.

Well, everyone needs to simmer down, because the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has already addressed this issue.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has received inquiries asking whether we are planning to remove the stars of Walk of Famers because of alleged misconduct. The answer is no,” said Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president and CEO. “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark. Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.”

In addition, Yahoo was provided a statement from the late Johnny Grant, who chaired the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee for many years and responded with the following when asked the same question: “Stars are awarded for professional achievement to the world of entertainment and contributions to the community. A celebrity’s politics, philosophy, irrational behavior, or outrageous remarks have never been cause to remove a Walk of Fame star.”

So, Donald Trump’s star is not going to be removed, and each time it is vandalized, the Hollywood Historic Trust, a 501(c)(3), will pay to have it replaced. And the last time the star was destroyed, the Hollywood Historic Trust and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce each received the fines from the conviction. Replacing the star costs the taxpayers… nothing. Except the money involved in prosecuting these morons each time they decide to “make a statement” by destroying property that doesn’t belong to them or the public.

Congratulations, West Hollywood City Council. Your virtue signaling is impeccable and worthless.

Yep. You’re lame alright. You not only don’t get the jurisdictional problems, you can’t even read the headline right.

responded with the following when asked the same question:
Ummm…. was he asked via ouija board? Or the witches of Endor?
Yeah, I know what they meant, but it was written poorly. Imagine that, something from Hollywood, written poorly. Who knew?!

Yeah, I know what they meant to say, but they wrote it poorly. Imagine that, something from Hollywood, poorly written.

    FIFY. 🙂

Here’s an idea; Trump supporters around the country have copies made of his Hollywood Star, then mount them EVERYWHERE. Sides of mountains in National Parks, potholes in roads, bike and hiking paths; put out so many that future archeologists list Trump up there with King Tut. lol
