Watch and Laugh: 2014 Super Bowl Ads and Weekend Links

Watch and Laugh: 2014 Super Bowl Ads and Weekend Links

At least 115 million people will watch Super Bowl XLVIII this year. Thirty-second commercial spots during the game are being sold for an average of $4.0 million; with some as much as $4.5 million. The favorites are all back including Doritos, Budweiser, GoDaddy, and Priceline. There will be a slew of car commercials, clever previews for upcoming movies, and FOX will air the first television spot for “24: Live Another Day” (Jack’s Back!) with Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer) and Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe).

Will the commercials for the Super Bowl live up to the hype? We’ll start with a really great rendition of our National Anthem…

“National Anthem” – MetLife

Here’s a few more of the 2014 Super Bowl commercials; all fun and guaranteed to make you smile.

“Gracie” – Cherrios

More Super Bowl commercials and Weekend Links below the fold!

“Nice” – Hyundai Elantra

“The Muppets steal a car” – Toyota

“Bodybuilder” – GoDaddy

“Sorry, Coke and Pepsi” with Scarlett Johannson

I bawled through this next one. If only all our troops received this kind of homecoming…

“A Hero’s Welcome” – Budweiser

“Cowboy Kid” – Doritos

“Puppy Love” – Budweiser

“Ellen” – Beats Music

“Going All the Way” – Coke

And finally, my favorite, the Tim Tebow ad. Some people are saying they never knew how hot he was until they saw him in this ad. Uh seriously?!? I sure did.

Game on. Go Seahawks!

While it may be the Seahawks who fly high, it will be the Broncos who will trot away with the victory! (BIG GRIN, BIG GRIN)

Just to clarify my prediction above. It was based on the assumption that the Broncos would actually show up to play. Ha!

The Cheerios ad: no, the media’s endless indoctrination and normalization of black men with white women does not make me smile.
