Warrant Issued For Paris Terror Suspect

Little by little, we are learning about who the attackers were on November 13th in Paris. French authorities are now actively searching for one man, one of three Belgian-born brothers.

Salah Abdeslam, the man named by police as a key suspect, is said to have rented a VW Polo car that was found near the Bataclan concert hall, where 89 people died, and believed to have been used by attackers.

On Saturday he was in a vehicle with two other men near the Belgian border when it was stopped by police, officials said, but was released after checks.

Because the French authorities miscommunicated, or didn’t flag him immediately in the system, he was let go, and is now still at large. And because this is the 21st century, his wanted poster is all over Twitter.

While the world hunts for Salah Abdeslam, we are learning about who these attackers were. So far, these have been identified:
– 29-year-old Omar Ismaël Mostefaï, French national, who was a suicide bomber at the Bataclan concert hall.
– Ibrahim Salah Abdeslam, Belgian national, brother of Abdeslam Salah Abdeslam, suicide bomber at Comptoir Voltaire restaurant in Paris.
– Mohammed Salah Abdeslam, Belgian national , brother of Ibrahim and Abdeslam, currently held for questioning.
– 25-year-old Ahmed al-Mohammad, who had a Syrian passport on him. The passport was confirmed to have passed through Greece in October, raising questions that some attackers may have snuck in, posing as refugees.
– Mohammed al-Mohammed, who reportedly traveled with Ahmed al-Mohammad.
– 20-year-old Bilal Hadfi, Belgian resident, one of the suicide bombers at Stade de France

Four other attackers have yet to be identified, and details are being added to the ones who have been discovered.

The Telegraph is reporting that the attack may have been planned in Syria, and then exported to Belgium in order to obtain weapons. Belgian authorities are admitting that there is a strong jihadist stronghold in the Brussels neighborhood of Molenbeek. And the Associated Press reported that Iraqi intelligence had warned coalition forces that an attack was “imminent.”

Iraqi intelligence sent a dispatch saying the group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, had ordered an attack on coalition countries fighting against them in Iraq and Syria, as well as on Iran and Russia, through bombings or other attacks in the days ahead.

Six senior Iraqi officials confirmed the information in the dispatch, a copy of which was obtained by the AP, and four of these intelligence officials said they also warned France specifically of a potential attack. Two officials told the AP that France was warned beforehand of details that French authorities have yet to make public.

Among the other warnings cited by Iraqi officials: that the Paris attacks appear to have been planned in Raqqa, Syria — the Islamic State’s de-facto capital — where the attackers were trained specifically for this operation and with the intention of sending them to France.

The officials also said a sleeper cell in France then met with the attackers after their training and helped them to execute the plan.

Here is hoping that Raqqa is now so busted up by French bombing that no new attacks can be planned there for a long, long time. In the meantime, the Western powers need to be honest about the ongoing threat that ISIS poses, and stop leaving doors and borders wide open.

Bomb all you like until there’s nothing left in Syria-the real problem lies in the West-those no-go zones like Molenbeek in Brussels. All the bigwigs in Syria could die right now but it’s safe to say that terrorists will still be able to strike from their control centers in the West long after their Syrian masters are dead.

Cleaning out those no-go zones would show the world that the war on terror is finally a serious business. If you are unwilling to eliminate the enemy on your own soil because political correctness is more important to you than national security then the enemy will merely laugh and plan the next Paris.

“merely laugh and plan the next Paris.”
Or Dallas, or D.C. or L.A……..
    There, fixed it for ya.
