– The folks who made the ever-so-awesome Tor Project are now designing point and click web publishing.  This means that unlike the current setup, which demands that people looking to create .onion sites be practically hackers themselves, the new point and click interfaces will allow just about anyone to make an anonymous Tor website.  What does this mean for the overreaching federal government?  Lots more whistleblowers, and lots more ability for those pesky liberty lovers to…organize. (Dun dun DUNNNN)  Not much info yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

– CredoAction would like to point out that the judicial order authorizing the NSA’s vast surveillance state expires at the end of this month.  To quote the wise sage Vanilla Ice: “Will it ever stop?  Yo, I don’t know.”  CredoAction wants you to sign a petition to be delivered to Obama.  Personally, I say sign the petition…but for the love of all that’s holy, don’t put your real info in there.  (And by “don’t put your real info in,” I mean make something up, not put one house number over or simply change the spelling of your last name.  Work with me, here!)  Keep in mind that when you sign petitions, the list of signers goes to the people who already think it’s okay to dig into your life, and also think liberty-minded folks are terrorists.  Don’t make it so easy for them, capisce?

– Florida cops just got busted violating the Constitution.  While “cops behaving badly” is a show that seems to be syndicated everywhere in the country these days, you’ll never guess what reason these cops are using for their warrantless cell phone tapping.  They claim that the manufacturer of the device—which allows the cops to act as a cell phone tower and effectively tap ALL calls going in and out of that ‘tower’—made them sign a non-disclosure agreement.  “Oh, sorry, Mr. Judge, we couldn’t tell you we even had one, so we went ahead and used it over 200 times without a warrant.  And can we not talk about the thousands of people’s calls who innocently came into our little trap, that we also listened to?”

Finally, one more thing on the Ukraine: Andrew Malcolm shines a light on just how feckless, idiotic, and weak our administration really is.  God help the Ukraine, and God help the United States, because we are being led by not just the blind, but the evil and the cowardly.
