Louisiana State Democratic Chairwoman Blames Koch Brothers and Fox News for Dems Loss

I was hoping for something more original, but then I remembered who I was talking about.

“But the fact of the matter is this — the non-stop, onslaught of negative and inflammatory Koch Brothers ads, added to the toxic media environment driven by Fox News and the right-wing echo chamber, have made it challenging for us to drive out our message to voters,” Carter-Peterson wrote.

Yes Karen Carter-Peterson, Madam Chairwoman of the Louisiana Democrat Party, that was the problem.  The Koch Brothers and Fox News caused your party to lose.  Had nothing to do with your candidate voting for Obama-care, or siding with the president on every issue, or spending public money on herself.  There was no connection to Mary Landrieu being given the old heave ho’ by the voters of Louisiana and losing by double digits because of her positions and her votes.

I think a small part of it had something to do with her explaining to voters at a campaign rally that in order to address the history of oppression that blacks had felt in the South for so many years, that they should re-elect a white woman to the Senate.

In fact, I saw that the National Democrat Party was so confident that Mary Landrieu could win in a run-off that they immediately directed resources to her campaign after the November elections.

Oh Wait….

I have always said that this change we are seeing now needs to come at the ballot box and be backed up by the ammo box. It appears from the election returns that the voters of Louisiana are more impressed with Bill Cassidy and his message than the one brought to them by the incumbent who used her parents address in order to establish her residency for election.

When I was growing up I always wanted to be an adult. Adults always seemed to be so smart. They always had the answers. It was with great disappointment that I found that belief to not be so.

You can find no more bigger case of cognitive dissonance than the modern Democrat Party.  They are not what I would call an introspective bunch.

The fact that the party chairwoman can even say the things that she is saying with a straight face should inspire amazement. She wants to blame the Koch Brothers while black unemployment still hovers at nearly twice that of whites. She wants to blame Fox News when the Democrats won’t move the Keystone XL Pipeline bill forward. She wants to blame all these red state bogeymen for the fact that her party is slowly marching toward irrelevance in national elections. Take a look at the map, tell me I am wrong.

And If I am wrong, how did this happen?

Landrieu was the last statewide elected Democrat holding office in Louisiana. Republicans now control both U.S. Senate seats, five of six congressional districts, the Governor’s Office, the state Senate, the state House of Representatives, and all other statewide elected offices.

So you go on Karen; go ahead and keep blaming others for your problems.  You ought to Google the definition of the word “insanity” and work on how that fits into your world view.

Sounds to me like the State of Louisiana getting rid of Mary Landrieu was the perfect end to a good start…
