Senate Dems All Night Trumper Tantrum Protesting Education Vote

Today at noon, the United States Senate is expected to vote to confirm Trump nominee Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education. The vote is expected to be 50-50 with the tie broken by Vice President Mike Pence. The two usual suspects, Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) have made it known they will vote with the Senate Democrats against Betsy DeVos for Education. Collins and Murkowski regularly vote with the Democrats on Teachers’ Union issues.

Using the movie “Animal House” as a guiding principle, the Senate Democrats decided that this situation “absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part”. To protest the Betsy DeVos nomination as Secretary of Education the Senate Dems decided to #HoldTheFloor and throw an all night Trumper Tantrum. And, by the by, if it is not illegal the Trump family should register Trumper Tantrum with the trademark office and make money from it becuase there are a lot of Trumper Tantrums being thrown.

Why are the Democrats trying to #StopDeVos and #HoldTheFloor with this Education Trumper Tantrum? The New York Post has an editorial today “What’s Really Behind Democrats’ All-Night Anti-DeVos Show”. It is futile and stupid because:

Except that all they can do is recycle the same old talking points, including gripes about her confirmation testimony.

In fact, the stunt plainly isn’t about changing any senator’s mind: They’ve already got the two Republicans who regularly vote with the teachers unions — which are, as we noted Sunday, DeVos’ true diehard enemies.

Ah, the teachers’ unions. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, there are 3.1 million teachers in the U.S. State and local education unions determine union dues but let’s say it’s two percent of a new teacher’s salary. We will use my home state of Tennessee as the new teacher’s salary base at $34,000.00. We have $34,000.00 times 2% times 3.1 million equals $2.1 billion. The Education Unions reap big bucks which they in turn funnel to our bought and paid for Senators. Yep, I said it. The people who we elect should wear sponsorship patches like NASCAR.

From the Post Editorial:

Again, the only real issue here is her ardent support for school choice, including public charter schools and voucher programs to help families choose qualified private or parochial schools for their kids. The unions (rightly) see choice as a potentially fatal threat to their vast power.

Here is Senator Elizabeth Warren aka Fauxcahontas whining about DeVos as Education Secretary and her “billions”.

Shut up, Fauxcahontas. You are a confirmed and proven liar. Why do we care what you think. Confirm Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education. The children of the United State of America deserve a good, solid, classical education.
