Remember November

Republican Governors Association has come out with a new ad called Remember November. And without a doubt, this ad is the most powerful political ad I have ever seen.

I gotta say, watching that video gave me the goosebumps. It both made me want to cry and re-energized my will to fight. It’s rare that a political ad can say so much in such a short period of time. I can hardly think of a more effective ad to so clearly spell out exactly what Democrats in Washington have been doing. And while people who pay attention every day already know how deep the corruption runs, people who don’t pay attention will be able to see this video and understand. There are millions of Americans who don’t stay informed, who voted for Obama and just a catchphrase, and who will watch this and be horrified.

We “Remember November” so that we can prevent the fiscal disaster waiting for our children and grandchildren. No longer will we allow politicians concerned with their political career to choose debt and irresponsibility over making the difficult choices. Soon America will be unable to dig itself from the burden of growing debt.

America was never intended to be a country recklessly ruled by a partisan national government that ignored the will of the states. Partisan leaders have rammed through massive, job-killing legislation without working across party lines on common sense reforms. They are standing with big labor, trial lawyers and liberal activist groups against the American people.

Sweetheart deals, vote buying, and lavish taxpayer-funded lifestyles. These are all too common among our current Washington politicians. We will “Remember November” because our Founding Fathers fought so that we would inherit an honest government of the people.

Will Republicans be able to bring us back to open, honest government that is fiscally responsible? Not completely. But it’s a start. We can’t afford to sit at home and let people like Pelosi and Reid to remain in power. Once we get them voted out, at least we’ll be able to start getting things turned around.

It’s the first step, and the future of our country depends on it. Every American who can vote needs to be informed about exactly what’s going on with our government today, and I honestly can’t think of a quicker, easier way to start than by showing them this video.

Pass it on. Make a difference.

UPDATE:

From Moonbattery, here’s another great video.

That is one of the most brilliant pieces of political video I have ever seen.

  • Chris in NC says:

Yeah, but the Republicans are the minority because when they had the power, they did the EXACT same thing as the democrats. Why should they be trusted now?

  • Michael Adams says:

Chris is right, as far as he goes. However, there are three things to remind the Chris contingent. One is that there are very large quantitative differences in what the Republicans did and what the Democrats are doing. If the Bush deficit was bad, one four times as big is four times worse.
Secondly, we are doing what we can in primaries all across the nation to elect more conservative Republicans. This is a very worthwhile effort, and depends upon the actions of millions of voters.
Third, the Obama mess, the nationalization of so much of the economy, the mushrooming of regulations and entitlements and the reckless disregard for the will of the people have been an enormous and very effective political cartoon, which will not only turn Americans for a time against the Social Democrats, but will also make for an environment in which more Conservative policies can be adopted.
Remember what happened when President Bush tried to rein in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack? Everyone who touched that issue was tarred with the racist brush. Anyone who supported reforming Social Security to be more sustainable was hounded with shrill cries of, “They are trying to take away your Social Security!”
That may be more difficult to pull off in the near future. Also, the Roosevelt era Democrats are dying off. The new generation of geezers (like me) has less faith in a benevolent government, no fond memories of how Roosevelt saved the nation in the depression. Some of us actually know that he prolonged the Depression. It’s one thing to carp and denounce everyone equally. We can sound smart and cynical in doing so. Now, however, we have been presented by Barry the Communist with a once in a century opportunity to reclaim our country. I volunteer to join in the effort. We may fail, but our grandchildren will know that we tried.
