#ReleaseTheMemo: Lawmakers Call For Publication Of FISA Abuse Report [VIDEO]

In December, House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes (R-CA) told Fox News that abuse of government surveillance practices had been uncovered by his investigators. Yesterday the Republicans on that committee voted to make a classified memo regarding FISA abuses available to the entire House.

A review of a classified document outlining what is described as extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse was made available to all House members Thursday and the revelations could lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, several sources with knowledge of the document stated. These sources say the report is “explosive,” stating they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates.

The House Intelligence Committee passed the motion along party lines Thursday to make the classified report alleging extensive ‘FISA Abuse’ related to the controversial dossier available to all House members.

By last night, #ReleaseTheMemo was trending.

The reactions from members of Congress who read the four-page memo in a secure room is quite revealing.

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) stated, “I viewed the classified report from House Intel relating to the FBI, FISA abuses, the infamous Russian dossier, and so-called ‘Russian collusion.’ What I saw is absolutely shocking.”

Others took to Twitter to call for the memo to be declassified and released to the public.

Keep in mind, the Obama administration weaponized the DOJ and other agencies against Americans.

We’ve pointed out many times over the last year that this Russia collusion stuff was driven by Hillary, the DNC, and the Obama Administration.

So, will this throw a roadblock into the Mueller collusion investigation? It very well could. Particularly since, as the guys at Powerline point out, Glenn Simpson has admitted in recent weeks (as we now know via the release of his testimony) the following

  • Simpson has no idea if any of the info is true.
  • Simpson doesn’t know who any of Steele’s sources are.
  • Simpson isn’t sure if Fusion GPS was target of Russian disinformation.
  • Simpson admitted under oath that, at the urging of his clients (the DNC and Clinton), he went to the press in order to counterbalance Comey’s reopening of the Clinton email investigation in October 2016.

So, how does this tie into the four-page memo? This from Lee Smith at Tablet via Daily Wire is illuminating.

[I]f the FBI and Department of Justice used a piece of opposition research paid for by a political campaign as evidence for a warrant to intercept the communications of a rival campaign—and the questions asked by congressional investigators suggest they did—then we are now living in a very different America than the one that generations of civil libertarians and small-government conservatives alike desired to maintain, and which large majorities in Congress have repeatedly voted for.

I suggest you read it all, and check out this from Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and the information regarding Bruce and Nellie Ohr and their ties to the Steele dossier and Fusion GPS:

Kellyanne Conway also offered her take on the FISA memo:

Kellyanne is correct, Americans distrust the institutions because of the sheer lack of accountability from those who are in positions of real power.

“The document shows a troubling course of conduct and we need to make the document available, so the public can see it,” said a senior government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the document. “Once the public sees it, we can hold the people involved accountable in a number of ways.”
The government official said that after reading the document “some of these people should no longer be in the government.”

The document also apparently outlines “several problematic” issues with how FISA warrants were “packaged, and used” state several sources with knowledge of the report.

Hold people accountable? Remember this?

How about this?

He’s right. Meanwhile, this from Comey didn’t age well.

If there are sources and methodologies present in the memo, redact them. Outside of that, I can see no compelling reason as to why this memo shouldn’t be made public.
