Promoting freedom through film

Promoting freedom through film

A few days ago, I got an e-mail asking me take a look at some videos. The e-mail was from an organization called the Moving Picture Institute, who advocates “promoting freedom through film”. This is their mission statement:

The Moving Picture Institute identifies and nurtures promising filmmakers who are committed to protecting and sustaining a free society, and supports their work through grants, travel scholarships, awards, internships, training workshops, and networking opportunities.

If only Hollywood would be so generous to freedom-loving filmmakers.

MPI has released quite a few films already, including the notable “Indoctrinate U”. Their newest program is called “Moving Minutes”, which consists of a bimonthly e-mail containing inspirational moments in film.

Considering what we have to look forward to the next four years, this was a good idea. Here were some of my favorite selections from the Moving Minutes e-mails:

Hi Cassy, I saw your comment on twitter and I came to your site here. I am an independent filmmaker and I made a pro veteran film about the Vietnam vets. My film takes place in Vietnam and it is an old style war film set in Vietnam. I have no f-words in any of my films and I refuse to make the kind of films that Hollywood forces filmmakers to make or they don’t get green lighted. I raised my own funding for FORGOTTEN HEROES and I need all the help I can get from conservatives and people that support our troops and our country. I was blackballed for twenty years with this film and I more problems with the distributors, who are the real power in Hollywood. So, I am selling my DVD off my web site and I am donating $5.00 from each sale to THE AMERICAN VETERANS DISABLED FOR LIFE MEMORIAL FUND.

My goal is to push for a grass roots marketing of my film and to get as many Vietnam Veterans and other veterans to buy my film and tell everyone they know about my film. I am the only indie filmmaker in Hollywood with conservative ideals with a completed 35mm feature and I was shut out for twenty years. You are right when you talked about films changing the culture. This is how the liberals stole the pop culture in the first place. They glamorized sex, drugs and rock n roll. They put down America and make films that the world will hate America instead of falling in love with America as they did in the golden age of Hollywood.

If you can check out my site http://www.forgottenheroesthemovie,com I have a link page to my other sites. ANything you can do to get the word out there will help a Vietnam vets and we can change this cancer that we see in films, but guys like me need the support of movie goers like you to back us by buying our films and telling the world who we are.

Thanks for your time in reading this

    Warmest regards
