Expect more humiliations and insults.

According to a report in the Washington Free Beacon, President Barack Obama desires a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Obama has sent two letters to President Rouhani and to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The report comes from the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) and the Free Beacon could not independently verify the authenticity.

However, recent meeting between high level Obama Administration officials and their Iranian counterparts lend veracity to the reports. Iranian Central Bank Governor Valiollah Seif met with our own Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, last week in Washington “to discuss Iran’s expectations”. Secretary of State John Kerry met with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif on Tuesday in New York City.

President Obama is into the legacy thing as his times as President wanes. He is ticking boxes and fulfilling campaign promises. Remember, Obama said Iran was not a threat in 2008.

Last year, Obama and the State Department cobbled together the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran. According to Obama and Kerry this was to keep Iran nuclear free. In reality, they get money and are now empowered to harass our ships and humiliate our sailors.

This is a pattern with Obama’ foreign policy. He goes to Cuba to meet with Raul Castro and brother Fidel Castro then rails against Obama in a 1500 word (that is a short missive from Fidel) letter titled “Brother Obama” which excoriated Obama for everything.

The Obama administration says re-establishing economic ties with the US will be a boon for Cuba, whose centrally planned economy has struggled to escape from overdependence on imports and a chronic shortage of hard currency.

In response Castro writes: “No one should be under the illusion that the people of this noble and selfless country will renounce its glory and its rights, and the spiritual wealth that is has gained with the development of education, science and culture.”

The former president ends his letter with a sort of “thanks but no thanks” to Obama’s offer of assistance.

“We are capable of producing the food and material wealth that we need with the work and intelligence of our people,” he writes.

Ouch! Every time Obama reaches out his hand America gets humiliated and insulted. Could it be that the Obama model for foreign policy is Kevin Back in Animal House?
